Placements and Internships
- Basically, I'm in the first year now so I have not much idea about internship placement and salary at Indian Institute of Technology.
- But this year placements are quite good.
- IIT Kharagpur students are getting job offers from Oracle, Microsoft, and so many companies offering the jobs and the salaries are quite good.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- IIT Kharagpur is the oldest, biggest and mother of all the IITs. There are 20 halls of which 16 are for boys and 4 are for girls. On an average, there are 700 students in each of these halls. Halls are not as bad but not as good also.
- Mess are quite clean and foods are quite good.
- Wi-Fi and LAN speed are very good. The full campus is high-speed Wi-Fi zone.
- The smart class and smart labs which save the time of students and professors as well and IIT Kharagpur's library is the Asia largest library.
- No motorbikes are allowed for the students so the campus is pollution free and full of trees and flowers.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- Every year Jee will take the entrance examination for the admission in IITs. one should appear in 12 board examination or pass out the previous year can only apply for Jee.
- Cutoff's change every year, this depends on the level of the paper and every year level of Jee papers increases so the cutoffs are quite low.
Academics and Faculty
- In a week we have 26 hours of a class including theory and labs at Indian Institute of Technology.
- I like the methods of teaching and interaction of professor with students.
- They are very helpful and extremely talented.
Fees and Scholarships
- You all know that the fee of IITs increased to Rs. 1 lakhs per semester which are unaffordable for many middle-class families but the scholarships and fee Weaver are there for the students and you can easily get interest-free loan from state bank of India.
Clubs and Associations
- There are countless societies in IIT Kharagpur so I want to take you through our tech fest.
- There is two major tech fest of IIT KGP one is cultural fest which is spring fest and the other is tech fest which is Kshitij and now Kshitij is the Asia largest techno-management.
- The most unique thing about IIT KGP is illumination. Every year we celebrate Diwali in a unique way which we call illumination.
- And the life is peace in IIT.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The selection procedure is by conducting an all India entrance test called JEE ADVANCED. To qualify for it we have to first pass another test called JEE MAINS. I have taken both and passed. The cut off for my course is rank below 4000.
