Placements and Internships
- I got to work has Reliance Capital asset Management in Bangalore which was really a very good place to work for a finance student.
- I didn't get any stipend.
- Many of my colleagues managed to get in companies like SBI and Exide where they were given stipend.
- A range of companies which include IT, Telecom, FMCG, MArketing, Consulting, Banking, Finance and even PSU's also come to hire for the Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT (ISM)] Dhanbad.
- The average salary was Rs. 7 to 8 lakhs per annum.
- Very strong alumni network in college.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- Hostels are enough and even more are coming up. 5 hostels are there are 3 for boys, 2 for girls and for international students in Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT (ISM)] Dhanbad.
- The hostel rate is so low that pg will be relatively more expensive outside.
- Food served is good and healthy and the complaints are heard quickly.
- Cost per meal is less.
- Accommodation and Mess both included costs is Rs. 30,000 per year and the days you are not eating the food gets refunded in your account effectively.
- the internet is provided for 24 hours, Wifi access is not everywhere but in departments although a 10gb optical network is coming up on the campus.
- A huge library of 7 floors is coming up. Books and online reading materials are more than enough.
- Dining halls are well maintained and the classrooms are fully equipped with everything like projectors, screens etc.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- Eligibility Criteria in Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT (ISM)] Dhanbad was set up by the Department based on the percentile of CAT scores.
- Admission Procedure included a Group Discussion round followed by PI . Only the shortlisted students were called for the GD round.
- I had a score of 90% in CAT exam to get admission.
- The typical cutoff was around 70-75%.
Fees and Scholarships
- Course fee in Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT (ISM)] Dhanbad is Rs. 1.5 Lakhs per annum. The course fees are very less compared to other colleges.
- A wide range of scholarship options is available.
- Around 7-10 students get scholarships.
- I think loans are not needed. Even if needed, they will be readily provided by SBI(campus branch) and any other bank.

- A Very active network of societies and clubs in Indian Institute of Technology, [IIT (ISM)] Dhanbad.
- Main festivals in college like Concetto, Basant, and much more in the respective departments
- Life in college, in general, is very interesting.
