College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

3.5

  • The college has a boys hostel and was all ready to get the girl's hostel functioning from session 2016-17.
There are a variety of options for accommodation near the college(in Kamla Nagar, Vijay Nagar, Roop Nagar), starting from Rs 5000 per month to Rs 25000 per month pgs.
  • The food in the college canteen is tasty, hygienic and available at reasonable prices.
The college, despite being old is well maintained and taken care of. The classrooms and lecture rooms are well ventilated and equipped with projectors. Hindu has a huge library with sections for each discipline.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • The students with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths in their 12th standard are eligible to take admission in the B.Sc.(honors) Chemistry course.

  • Different colleges of the University of Delhi release their cut-offs for the PCM aggregate and there are limited seats so the admission is on First come first serve basis.
  • The cutoffs vary  every year for each category. For general students in 2013, it was 96.3.

Academics and Faculty

3

  • The course has 4 subjects every semester and 5 lectures per subject per week. Each lecture is 55 minutes. It also has one laboratory class for all the subjects for about 3 and a half hour. The professors are really great and Hindu College is known for its outstanding chemistry department faculty.
  • The college, not just focuses on academics but also on extra-curricular activities as well. The Chemistry department organizes its annual fest to get the students involved in out-of-the-class learning.

Fees and Scholarships

2.5

  • The course fee per year was around Rs.14000.
  • The students who are eligible for INSPIRE scholarship by Department of Science and Technology(DST) could use that to pay for the college.
  • Top 1% of all the students that appear for the 12th standard boards are eligible for this scholarship.

Clubs and Associations

4

  • There are numerous societies for different interests like photography, western dance, classical music, debate and a lot more. Every another student is a part of one of more societies.
  • The annual cultural fest of the college, Mecca, is the talk of the campus which has been the host to some of the best artists like Vishal-Shekhar, RDB, Papon, Mohit Chauhan and a lot more.
  • The campus life of Hindu promises you a soothing, energetic, learning experience. Hindu was the best thing that happened to me
