Placements and Internships

  • Many companies visit UIET for placements but they recruit a very small number of students.
  • This is because most of them are startups or not mass recruiters.
  • If you have contacts in Training & Placement Cell then your chances of getting recruited increases.
  • The salary figures vary from Rs 3 to 6.5 lakhs per annum.
  • Infosys is a mass recruiter which visits here.
  • They demand knowledge of all programming languages.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

  • There are 8 boys hostels and 4 girls hostels.
  • There fee is minimal without including meals.
  • Also, you get PGs nearby college.
  • UIET has its own canteen on the campus where the quality of food is good and cheaper.
  • You can also get food in hostel mess.
  • The condition of lab equipments are not that much good and if you want to work on instruments then you have to get your own.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • To get admission in UIET you have to score good marks in JEE MAIN entrance examination.
  • Then according to your rank you get admission in any branch.
  • Also, if have some quota then you will get a good branch.
  • UIET has 6 branches CSE, ECE, EEE, ME, IT, Biotech.

Academics and Faculty

  • You have to attend at least 75% classes in a semester to give exams.
  • Usually, classes start at 9 am and go till 5 pm at UIET.
  • In this time you may have lectures or you have labs or workshops.
  • Teachers are very hardworking and help students in clearing doubts.you can score good marks if you learn well.

Fees and Scholarships

  • The course fee for general students is approximately Rs 75000/- per annum at UIET.
  • Scolarships are given to economically weaker students and students who get highest marks in a semester.
  • Also, loans are easily available from banks as it is an NAC accredited college.

Clubs and Associations

  • Efficycle is organised every year in which eco-friendly cars are made.
  • Goonj is cultural fest which held every year at UIET.
  • Also, the college has many rotary clubs and you can get recruited in NCC if you are physically fit.
  • There are different events and festivals organised in college whole year.
  • You won't get bored if you are away from home.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : First of all, you need to have a non medical stream in 12th class for eligibility. So I was eligible to apply. Next, there is JAC CHANDIGARH. Where a student has to apply for admission to colleges in Chandigarh for this course. IIT main was the exam and admissions are based on the rank received in the test. Mine was around 18,000. Cut off vary from year to year . Approximately 25,000 rank was the last rank in Ece branch.
