Akash Lakshman's Review on BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore

• I have done two internships in Hindustan aeronautics and BEL Ltd.
• Key IT companies hire more from our college, but there are enough jobs in the field which we study.
• Average salary lies between 3-4.5 LPA, highest salary is 22 LPA, and almost 60-70% of us get placed.
• Alumni network is good with some cool people who lend us a helping hand in need.  

• The college has 6 hostel buildings which are extremely well maintained with super cool mess facilities, hostel fee is INR 13000 per month. 
• There are too many PG facilities outside which costs around INR 4000-5000 per month with food facilities.
• College canteen is good , well maintained and hygienic. The rates are the cheapest I've given so far. 
• The quality of classrooms are good with necessary arrangements, labs are the plus points in our college we have some equipment which no other college has till now ( like XRD and electron scanning microscope ) and we also have 6 research labs called propel labs.

• The eligibility criteria and admission procedure: BMSCE is the top 2nd college in Karnataka, in order to get an admission one has to get a high score in Karnataka CET or comedK and also entry through management seats are also there but one has to pay a huge amount .
• Entrance examination: I wrote Karnataka CET and ranked 1791. 
• The typical cutoffs: For general merit, its 3000 give or take and it goes up to 15000 for reservation candidates.

class starts at 8 in the morning ( a major drawback ) till 4 in the evening with two breaks of 30 and 60 minutes , exams are a  bit classical and hard when compared to other colleges , assignments some teachers give for which we will be given some 10-15 marks

some teachers are really good , they have a well established knowledge in the subjects . but some teachers are so full of themselves that tey think they know everything and also they expect us to know everything before hand 

college life is the best , the best time ive spent 

• Entrance examination: INR 50,000 per year. 
• Scholarships are available, 20 students get a scholarship
• On an average 20 students get a scholarship.
• Loans are available.

• There are 27 student societies in our college.
• UTSAV is the main cultural fest of our college while PHASESHIFT being the technical fest of all the department's combines, other than that every department has a separate tech fest.
• Life in college is super.
