Placements and Internships
- Many of the multinational companies in India hire students of PEC with considerably high package rates. Major recruiters include TCS, CTS, Tech Mahendra, Sankalp Semiconductors, Eaton PVT.Ltd, Spi global and other such soaring companies.
- The minimum package is INR 3 lakhs per annum. Candidates are offered dream packages up to INR 10 lakhs per annum. Every year more than 95% of the candidates are recruited via campus drive.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- The institute provides a separate hostel for boys and girls consisting of around 200 rooms each. The food provided at the hostel is tasty and also available at reasonable rates. The hostel fee per month is INR 1000. Also, PGs and other private rooms for rent are available in the locality outside the college, also for a reasonable rate. The whole of the campus is WiFi enabled with the well-equipped library, which is one among the largest in Indian institutions . The laboratory facilities in the college are outstanding.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- Pondicherry Engineering College, widely known as PEC is one among the prestigious institutions down south . The institute is spread wide for 210 acres on the East Coast Road, well equipped with state of art laboratories. It is a government institution with the best placement records in Puducherry, fully funded by The government of Puducherry. The Pondicherry engineering college is the foremost opted institution for engineering in Puducherry which requires a very high percentage of cut off marks for admission. Freshers are admitted based purely on merit in the Higher secondary board examinations or the JEE scores.
Academics and Faculty
- The classes begin at 09 00 in the morning. Each period lasts for 50 mins . The forenoon session includes a tea break at 10 40- 11 00 . The lunch hour is scheduled between 12 40- 01 30 after which the afternoon session commences. The classes are wound up at 04 50 in the evening. An academic year consists of two semesters, consisting of three internal examinations each, out of which the best two marks are taken into account. The students are required to complete one project at the end of the fourth year. The institution houses some of the best faculties, most of them holding a PhD degree. The faculties inculcate wide technical and social exposure to the students.

Fees and Scholarships
- Course fee for a year is INR 13,000, which makes PEC the most affordable institution of higher quality.
- Many scholarships are available for deserving candidates funded by the Government of Puducherry, the Central Government and the institution. Every academic year more than 40% of the students avail these scholarships. The course fee being very much nominal does not require availing educational loans. However, if needed, loans are easily available for meritorious students.
Clubs and Associations
- The college consists of various clubs such as National Cadet Corps ( NCC), National Service Scheme ( NSS), The English literary club, Photography club and various other such clubs to cherish the talents of the students. It also includes various cells such as Counselling and Career training cell, Training and Placement cell, Anti-ragging cell, Entrepreneurship cell, Women cell etc., to make the environment for the students itch-free Every year PECOFES is organised where various colleges in and around Puducherry participate and express their talents.
