- I was Intern at Tata Technologies Limited and still a 3rd-year so we have placements in the final year.
- Key Industries and companies that hire from Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology campus are Tata Consultancy Limited - Samsung - Honeywell - Oracle - Tata Cummins - Jindal Saw Limited - IBM - Infosys - Capgemini.
- Average salary figures offered is Rs. 350,000 per annum.
- Alumni network is not effective.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are 32 hostels present at Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology. 22 hostel for boys and 10 hostels for girls with total 3,500 capacity.
- Every hostel has in-house lecturer-superintendents (a unique feature) besides matrons, welfare officers, and caretakers.
- Every hostel is provided with telephone, cable TV, newspapers, magazines, indoor and outdoor games, water purifiers, voltage stabilizers, generators and with a wifi speed of 1.2 Mbps.
- Hostels are regularly visited by doctors, principal, Dean (Admn.) and warden.
- Two ambulances attend all medical problems.
- Gunupur is connected with major cities via rail and road. College provides transport facilities for the students.
Academics and Faculty
- The Academic schedule of every semester at Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology is designed in such a way that each semester is a tenure of 4 months and students get enough vacation to re-energize themselves.
- Besides the academic schedules, there are free courses provided by the latest technology to make student ready for industry.
- For 3ed and 4th-year students, the college also provides coaching for a competitive exam such as GATE, TOEFL etc.
- The teaching faculty is experienced in their respective field and provide tremendous help to student either inside or outside of class and the student doesn't have the ability to choose their teacher.
Fees and Scholarships
- My college fee at Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology is Rs. 80,000 per year.
- Scholarship on 80% of College fees for meritorious student who secures rank within 100 in the entrance exam and 5% of student every year secures scholarship.
- We have in campus Bank facility to provide loans to the students.
Clubs and Associations
- Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology provides ample opportunity for the students to take part in all indoor and outdoor sports, games & recreation activities.
- Sports annex is located adjacent to the college and has facilities for playing and practicing Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Football, Cricket and Swimming.
- Our Basketball court and the swimming pool are laid as per international standards.
- Inter college tournaments, inter-class matches, and annual athletic meet are regular features of the institution.
- Many students represent the institute in various sports & games.
- The college football, cricket, Volleyball and Basket Ball teams have won awards at various tournaments and competitions.
- The college has the distinction of winning the intercollegiate knockout Cricket and Table Tennis championship for consecutive years.
- Every year a technical event called Science Expo is conducted in the institution. Not only state but also throughout India's technical student participate in exploring their creativity.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria is passed in +2 Science with Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / Computer Science. As it stands now Govt. of Odisha is not going to conduct OJEE, hence JEE (Main) entrance is the only roadway to take admission into 1st year B.Tech Programmes offered by GIET, Gunupur. A minimum of 45% (Aggregate) in Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry /Biology /Biotechnology /Computer Science is a must.
