Placements and Internships

4.5

  • I did an internship in Investment banking division of Deutsche Bank in Mumbai.

  •  IIM Kozhikode has a good number of key companies coming for marketing and finance roles. Recently consultancy has also picked up.

  • The average salary last year was INR 17,00,000 PA which keeps on increasing year by year.

  • The alumni network is not as strong as other established IIM, but the initial batches are now reaching a position of power and will be helpful.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4.5

  • The campus of IIM Kozhikode is one of the most beautiful in India. It is located up on a hill and gives you relief. The course is a purely residential program and all the student have to stay on the campus. The campus has the sufficient number of rooms and hostels. Apart from the mess, there is also the option of 2 more restaurant inside the campus and also a subway.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • The admission procedure is through Common Aptitude Test (CAT).

  • There are weights allocated for previous studies and other professional backgrounds also. Based on all these factors, candidates are called in for interviews. There is usually a GD and an interview. Based on both these, admission to college is offered.

Academics and Faculty

4.5

  • The course is divided into 6 three months term and one internship at the end of the first year. The class timings  are usually from 9:15 AM to 4:15 PM. However, there are also lots of pre-class reading which has to be done. Case preparations and presentation are also an integral part of MBA. Most of the faculty are stalwart in their field and teach well.

Fees and Scholarships

3.5

  • The course fee of IIM is around INR 16,00,000 for the 2-year program. However, all the banks are more than happy to give bank loans and considering that the average placement is around 17 LPA, repayment should not be difficult.

  • There are scholarship options available, for all the ST, SC, and other categories. There is also some pure merit-based scholarship. Other reputed scholarship like OPJEMS , Generali etc. are also there.

Clubs and Associations

4.5

  • The student activities are very wide and span academic interest groups for all the verticals to sports clubs. There are groups for sports, dance, dramatics, PR, alumni network and music.

Academics & Faculty : Some courses provided are really good. But as it is a post graduate institute the effort has to be given by the individuals to learn about the topic. A Lot of opportunities lie ahead to groom yourself. Professors are always approachable.

Academics & Faculty : Excellent exposure to various domains and businesses through classroom learning where the pedagogy involves both lectures and case-based discussions! There is adequate grading system where there are marks allocated to different components including class room participation which caters to making the pedagogy a successful one.
