Placements and Internships

1

  • I am strictly talking about the mechanical course here. Placement in Bharati Vidyapeeth College Of Engineering for the mechanical department in Bharati Vidyapeeth College Of Engineering is quite patheticThe college does give 100% support if you want to work as an intern at some place, but the student will have to find an internship, get permission and do the entire process on their own. The college just gives the permission letter which also restricts the internship period for a maximum of 30 days. Getting permission from the college is, however, easy. Also, the college does not collaborate with any firm nor does it arrange an internship for the students.
  • For the mechanical course, only a couple of core companies visit normally and the criteria for them is quite high so only a few students are placed in the cores. The package at an average is around Rs 3,00,000 which is quite low. Rest of the placement is either for the IT based companies for sales related job or pool placements, both are normally not preferred.
  • The alumni network is also not great at all.No further comments.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

2.5

  • Infrastructure here is quite basic. The Campus is a circular building around a quadrangle and obviously, the students are not allowed in the quadrangle. Labs for the mechanical department are good. The workshop is good, however, faculty in change for the workshop are quite grumpy and will leave no stone unturned to depress you.
  • The college has a separate hostel for both girls and boys. The girl hostel is decent and the boy hostel, on the other hand, is pathetic, poorly maintained and the food is shit. Most of the boys don't prefer staying in the  hostel. Hostel fee is almost same as the college.Library is not good and has no great books. The librarian is grumpy and rude.
  • College canteen is good and the food is quite cheap. But the staff changes every now and then and so does the quality. You may or may not be lucky.
  • The classrooms are also basic, a boring blackboard and chalk, no projector, definitely no ACs and can accommodate around 120 students. The labs, on the other hand, are excellent.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • One is eligible to take admission in Bharati Vidyapeeth College Of Engineering if he has the required score in the CET or the JEE MAIN exams as per the cut-off prescribed by the college for the respective year when applying for admissions.
  • I took admission in 2013 for the four-year mechanical engineering course. For that batch, the cutoff was 133 marks in CET and 70 marks in JEE MAIN. Cutoffs are generally high for Mechanical Engineering degree and Computer Engineering. However, if someone does not fit the eligibility criteria he can still secure the seat through a management quota seats that the college offers, wherein he has to pay addition fees to get admission.

Academics and Faculty

3.5

  • For the mechanical department, the teaching quality is quite good and class timings in Bharati Vidyapeeth College Of Engineering are held from 9 am to 5 pm.
  • The college is quite inclined to academics so the overall teaching is better than the rest of the colleges (This means forget IVs and Trips, Fresher party and Fests etc. and get ready to go back to the school like environment).

Fees and Scholarships

1.5

  • For my batch, fees in Bharati Vidyapeeth College Of Engineering was Rs 95000 per annum. It increases by some 10% every year. Now, the fees for FE is around Rs 100000 and increases till the BE.
  • Caste based scholarship and incentive provided by the government is provided by the college and the college does provide proper counseling for the same and ensure that each and everyone eligible gets it. However, if you belong the open category (Like I am) be  prepared because the college won't let go a penny for you. They are not at all supportive, won't consider your economic condition, won't even allow you to pay the fee even one day after the due date. I have been the highest scorer in the college for 3 years straight and never got any concession in the fee or any appreciation from the collegeThe top three students from each course used to get a Ratan Tata Scholarship which was 80% of the tuition fee. The college is no longer eligible for the same since this year and so no one gets it now. In short, no scholarships are given by the college, no efforts are made by the college side to arrange a scholarship from any private institute for open category students and toppers.

Clubs and Associations

1

  • The life Bharati Vidyapeeth College Of Engineering will be just like your school life.
  • They do have a fest called Abhiyaan. But it is boring and you won't really enjoy it.There are a lot of rules set by the principle.
  • They have clubs and if you are really into something you can discover them.
