Placements and Internships
- There are very good IT companies which come for recruitments.
- But still, more companies are there which are yet to come.
- The average salary figure is Rs 7 lakhs per annum and the highest salary figures are around Rs 15 lakhs per annum.
- On an average, 60% students get placed.
- The alumni network is good.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are 2 hostels, one for boys and other for girls at Jadavpur University, Calcutta.
- The hostel staff is not efficient and no cupboards, wifi, a water purifier is provided.
- Hostel fee is very minimal, the PGs are available but are very costly and congested.
- No WiFi is available even at the campus.
- No canteen services in the hostel and on the campus.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The eligibility criteria are 12th pass and qualifying WBJEE entrance exam.
- I took JEE MAIN and ADVANCED both and Jharkhand state entrance exam.
- The typical cutoff for JEE MAIN was 115(gen), 70(OBC) and around 50(SC/ST).
- No cutoff for WBJEE.
- Admission procedure was totally on the basis of rank secured to get into Jadavpur University, Calcutta.
Academics and Faculty
- The daily class timing is from 10am-5pm.
- We get assignments for labs and not for theory papers, also no projects are given.
- The quality and method of teaching are average.
- Overall experience is fine at Jadavpur University, Calcutta.
Fees and Scholarships
- Per year course fee is Rs 30000 at Jadavpur University, Calcutta.
- We have a university scholarship.
- The average number of students which gets a scholarship is around 10-20.
- I did not take any loan.
Clubs and Associations
- The student society is good, clubs are mostly dormant at Jadavpur University, Calcutta.
- Only two festivals occur on our campus - tech and cultural.
- There is no canteen in the college for students, the one that exists is very inefficient.
