Placements and Internships
- I did my internship during my second year and earned a stipend of Rs. 21000
- Most of the key companies like SDE - Amazon,Microsoft, Samsung, Goldman Sachs, De Shaw, Adobe, Visa,PWC,Oracle ,IBM that hire from my campus,Consultancy- ZS associates, TCS, Cognizant etc
- Average for salary is around 10.5 lakhs per annum, highest for salary is about 26 lakhs per annum, IT average salary is around is 8 lakhs per annum and for other the departments is around 4.5 lakhs per annum.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There's just one hostel at Jadavpur university and it's free of cost.
- The Food is cheap as is in whole Kolkata, no special discounts for alumni and good food at reasonable rate.
- Classrooms are not that great but its pretty obvious because of the fees.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The eligibility criteria for Jadavpur University is WBJEE exams + class 12th pass.
- The Admission procedure for is based on ranks in WBJEE
- The typical Cut-offs is around 170 rank in this competition,which is approx. 130-140 marks in WBJEE.
Academics and Faculty
- The Daily routine is from 10am to 5:30pm with half hour break but classes are not always compulsory.
- The quality of the labs are good, professors are good so assignments are great.
- Teaching is top-notch with some good faculty but always there are teachers who are not that interesting .
- So students prefer to work on their own and study.
- A perfect blend of cheap college life in the city of Kolkata.
- Great Alumni and faculty. You can actually do your will and spend the day as you wish without much constraint.
Fees and Scholarships
- The course fee for Jadavpur university is about Rs. 2500 a year.
- The are many scholarships options available for underprivileged students .
- An average number of students who get the scholarship is around 1 or 2 from class.
Clubs and Associations
- The Photographic Club is quite active.
- The other cubs are not that active but still there is Science Club , Chess, Music, Dramatics Club, Code club and others.
- Sanskriti a 7-day fest is a joy ride and U-turn is an event to know freshers .Other departmental fests are also there.
- In a nutshell , I love my college and the life, but there are perks of studying in such colleges. You have to take the opportunities as well.
