Placements and Internships
- There are many internships available through the university and also through the IAESTE you will be able to get foreign placements with attractive salary packages.
- The core areas that companies hire through Karunya are IT, Computer Science, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Electronics.
- This year saw a record number of placements for the Computer Science department and packages went as high as Rs.12lac/annum.
- The alumni network is also vast with members all across the globe, some of whom even come back from time to time and recruit students with attractive salary packages at Karunya University, Coimbatore.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are 16 hostels in total, 2 for each year (2 each for gents and ladies respectively).
- The fee is Rs 10000 per year, which is included in the total fee.
- There are no options available to live in PGs outside the college, although students are allowed to live in their homes if their family is based in the city.
- The mess fee is almost 15000 per semester.
- We have 3 categories(north, south, NRI) which vary in their prices.
- The classrooms are spacious and can fit 70 students and the entire campus is fired with around 600 Wi-Fi routers(hostels included).
- The labs and libraries are also well equipped although some of the equipment need to be upgraded soon.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The eligibility criteria are that the student must have completed 12th standard or its equivalent (50% minimum in maths and science).
- The student must write the KEE examination, normally the first 3000 students stand a good chance to get admissions here.
Academics and Faculty
- The daily routine is normal, 8:30am to 5:20pm on some days with a lot of break hours in between.
- There are a few projects and assignments which earn the student valuable marks and the examinations are mainly continuous internal assessments in the form of class tests.
- The quality and method of teaching are pretty good and it would be easy for an average student to cope up, provided he/she is regular and attentive in class.
- The overall experience is good and is constantly improving at Karunya University, Coimbatore.
Fees and Scholarships
- The average fee is Rs.3.5lac per annum which includes tuition fees, mess fees and hostel fees.
- This may increase for foreign nationals and NRIs.
- There are scholarships available for students who's families earn not more than Rs 2 lac per annum and will have to be applied for 50 such scholarships are given out each year if a student is selected through a short screening process and selected students will be expected to maintain their grades, attendance and must not be involved in any disciplinary actions.
- Yes, loans are available through most nationalized as well as private banks and could be availed if needed at Karunya University, Coimbatore.
Clubs and Associations
- There are many student clubs on offer here, academic as well as non-academic which offer students great exposure and allow them to showcase their skills and talents.
- There are department fests well as the main fest organized every year, which bring in students from all over the country.
- The college life is great and like I said before, it is improving drastically at Karunya University, Coimbatore.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : There are two ways to get admission in the college either you can book your seat early or you can write the entrance examination conducted by the college. If you go with direct admission there are fewer chances of getting the desired branch but if you go with the entrance examination conducted by the college and if you get good rank then you can surely get the branch which you like. The eligibility criteria are you should have 60% and above in PCM/PCB in 12th all the courses have same fee structure except for CSE and Mechanical which is somewhat high than other branches
