Placements and Internships

3.5

  • There is a huge scope for students who have developed a flair for computational linguistics, psycholinguistics, cognitive sciences, etc.
  • And, it is almost highly probably that they can venture abroad with their newly acquired traits to provide innumerable services to language studies.
  • For the mediocre minded, placements are attracted for posts in HR, proof-reading and copy-editing at UH Hyderabad.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

5

  • There are 12 hostels for men and 8 for women, and there are constructions going on to assimilate more students into the campus.
  • Almost every student will be provided accommodation for a very nominal cost.
  • Hostels are equipped with internet connections, and the hostel messes run fine. Food in the canteens is subsidized too, so one can avail breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, etc for a really fair price.
  • All the classrooms, auditoriums, labs, library, reading room are equipped with wifi routers and decent wifi. Teachers are probably the best in the country at UH Hyderabad.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • The Centre for Applied Linguistics and Translation Studies (CALTS), UoH provides a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics, which is a four-semester programme with 5 courses per semester.
  • The compulsory courses cover core linguistics subjects along with semantics, language teaching and testing, translation studies, lexicography, computational linguistics, historical linguistics, psycholinguistics, and sociolinguistics.
  • With an array of optional subjects to choose from, this degree equips the future linguist with a strong skillset to study languages all over the world.
  • The eligibility criteria for this course are a bachelor's degree is required from any UGC recognized college or university, with a minimum 50% aggregate, while 45% for reserved students.
  • Entrance examinations are held every year by June and the admission procedures commence from mid-July.

Fees and Scholarships

5

  • Being a university funded by the Central Government, the course fee is highly subsidized with only a fraction paid by the student.
  • For economically challenged students, a compulsory grant is provided by the university, every month at UH Hyderabad.

Clubs and Associations

5

  • There are many student societies, clubs, and other groups on the campus and they promote a whole lot of causes and interests.
  • Sukoon is the main cultural event of the university, awaited by all the students.
  • The Life in college is truly beautiful here.
  • And trust me you will spend the best years of your life in here at UH Hyderabad.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : To get into the University of Hyderabad I have written entrance exam conducted by the university of Hyderabad. The eligibility criteria are to clear the entrance exam in science stream and passing the 12th with 60% of marks. There were no cutoff marks for our course. As our university is a government funded university, it has selected the students by considering their performance in the entrance exam and caste and area from where they are. The main aim of our course is to enhance the interest of students to proceed their future in a research field.
