College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There is a total of 6 boys hostels and 2 girls hostels.
- There are sports rooms and common TV rooms in hostels with fine facilities of bathrooms and toilets at NIT Hamirpur.
- Food quality in hostels is satisfactory. Snooker rooms, Table tennis rooms, badminton halls and GYM rooms are available for students.
- Internet facilities are provided in common rooms of 1st and 2nd year and LAN networks are provided in each room for 3rd, 4th year B.Tech boys hostels.
- Girls hostels have LAN network in each room in both hostels.
- Food charges are included in the hostel charges. Total hostel charge of one semester(6 months) is nearly twenty thousand.
- You can issue books for yourself from the institute library.
- There are also separate study rooms available in hostels in which you can study without any disturbances of your friends.
Academics and Faculty
- Classes have a different time table on different days.
- Normally classes begin on 8:30am and come to an end at 4:45pm(including labs).
- Labs are of 3 hours duration. 2-4 days a week there are no labs.
- Teachers do not pay attention to academics of individual students at NIT Hamirpur.
- They only do their job of delivering lectures. Students have to study mostly by themselves.
- If you are passionate towards studies and asks teachers for help in studies then they will surely help you.
- Some of the teachers are very nice and understanding and some are not. Your overall personality will grow and you will learn to be independent in college.
Clubs and Associations
- The life in college is exciting.
- If you are passionate about singing and dancing then there are separate student clubs for it.
- They will teach you and you can perform on festivals.
- There is discipline club, public relations club, informals club, English club, environmental club, music club, dance club, dramatics club and more at NIT Hamirpur.
- There are also separate branch teams which work on the projects related to their fields and show them on Nimbus(Technical Festival).
- All clubs perform in Hillfair(cultural festival).
