Placements and Internships
- I have done my internship at Indian oil which is petrochemical company and also at Rubber factory getting a stipend of Rs.10000.
- The company that visits my campus are MNC's like MICROSOFT, SONY, L&T, BEL, ORACLE, JINDAL STEEL.
- The average salary is in the range of 4-4.5lakhs per annum. Approximately 90-95%of final year are placed. Alumni of college are widespread and very helpful.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are 6 hotels in the college out of which 4 if they are boys and rest are for girls. The hostel is nice, spacious and inside the campus. Hostel fees are Rs.60000 per annum. Since Tumkur is small town so a lot of P.G are not available, but few if they are there which cost around Rs.6500 per month.
- Food is typically south Indian with a lot of local dishes. Canteen provides food for approximately Rs.30 per meal.
- The lab is well equipped and provided by Technip. College is provided with fast ethernet as well as wi-fi. The classroom is provided with Internet facility and with a projector and other modern equipment. The college has a single centralized library as well as individual libraries of each department.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- We have to secure 60% in 12th for engineering.
- Then I have to give entrance examination of COMEDK in which based on your ranking you will get the college and discipline of engineering.
- The typical cut-off of Chemical Engineering was 6000 rank.
Academics and Faculty
- My college typically starts from 8:00am to 5:00pm and gets extended on project days.
- There are 4 quizzes and 2 internal exams and 1 external university exam in a semester.
- Teaching is quite good as teachers are knowledgeable and from esteemed colleges like Harvard.
- I have the nice experience with teaching system in college as tend to focus both on theory as well as the laboratory.
Fees and Scholarships
- My fee is Rs.160000 per annum.
- Government scholarships are available but only on the caste system.
- More than 40%of students get loan through a various bank,we just need to apply for it.
Clubs and Associations
- There are quite a few societies, clubs, and groups for dance, debate and extracurricular activities.
- The college fest is Halcyon and is good. Each department has their own fest also. The quizzes and various programs by these groups are around the year. Some of them are like debating, quizzing, marathon, singing etc.
- The general life in college is good with equal emphasis on education and extracurricular activities.
