Placements and Internships

3

  • TechMahindra, HTC, Capgemini, Amazon, Genpact, GGK etc are few of the key companies that hire.
  • Avg salaries are Rs.3lakhs per annum. Highest was Rs.14lakhs per annum year. Nearly 30% get placed.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4

  • There are separate hostel buildings for girls n boys not too far from college. College provides bus facilities for hostelers. It costs around Rs.50000 per academic year. An Avg meal costs around 40(veg) n 50rs(nonveg). It is not five-star but definitely eatable. Classrooms n labs are large n very well ventilated(ps:u r not allowed to sleep). Library is two-storeyed and resourceful. The cafeteria is long and well maintained. The college provides free WiFi but can be used at certain locations inside the campus only. There are three blocks, a cricket ground, football ground, couple of volleyball n throwball courts, a basketball court and a sports room for indoor games.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • Well, the eligibility criteria depend on the reservation(SC, ST.. Etc). The cutoff of for OC and BC are really high when compared to SC n ST. CMR is affiliated to JNTUH so the entrance exam I took was EAMCET. The typical cutoffs for OC n BC are 30k n 50k(rank).

Academics and Faculty

3.5

  • The college follows the yearly curriculum put forth by the JNTUH. Each lecture is 1hr long and there are 6 lectures each day n a 50min lunch break, so u do the math. Quality and method of teaching are good(3.5/5). College is not like in the movies but not a bad place to be either.

Fees and Scholarships

3.5

  • My course fee is Rs.60000 per year. The Govt has few schemes for scholarship but then again it has to do with reservations.
  • Nearly 20% students get scholarships.
  • I don't think loans r needed and it is difficult to avail a loan from a private sector bank since it is an undergraduate course.

Clubs and Associations

3

  • Not many student societies in the college but there is a literary club. Tech fest and the sports fest are the two main annual events.
  • In general, the academics n extra curriculums are maintained at right proportions

Entrance Exams & Admissions : I'm pursuing my graduation in CMRCET (CMR College of Engineering and Technology), Rangareddi. The college offers plenty of placements. I was allotted to this college through EAMCET. I'm not really sure about the cutoff. It was around 20k - 25k for ECE in 2015. It is a good college having experienced faculty and good infrastructure.
