Placements and Internships

  • I did my internship from TATA Cummins,Jamshedpur.

  • 150 key companies visit our campus for hiring the eligible candidates each year. Among these companies, major portion is acquired by IT or Software Companies. A good amount of analyst companies also come for hiring candidates interested in financial background. Approximately 100% placement do occur with the average salary varying from branch to branch. The average salary figures for Electronics and communication branch is approximately INR 5,00,000.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

  • An adequate number of hostels have been set up to increase the comfortability of students.

  • Hostel fee is around INR 6,000 -7,000.

  • PGs are available near the colleges but the college provides rooms in the hostels to every student taking into account their safety and security.Each hostel has an associated mess with an average rating of food(occurs in almost every college). The mess charge increases annually for all years. The quality of hostels and the college have been improved to a better status.

  • 12 Hr LAN connections are provided to the students.

  • The overall rating of the college infrastructure is excellent.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • You need to clear an entrance exam called JEE MAIN with a good score of 134 and above.This cutoff may vary year to year according to the level of questions asked. This year the eligibility criteria are varied by taking into account the percentage obtained in class XII reducing the crowd and competition.These are the typical cutoffs for pursuing B.Tech fro N.I.T Jamshedpur. For Electronics and Communication Engineering, a minimum score of 155 is required if you belong to a general quota.

Academics and Faculty

  • Quality and method of teaching are average. We have a good amount of professors who have an excellent knowledge in their area of interests.

  • The overall experience of the college is in between good and best.Hope you would have a bright future in N.I.T Jamshedpur iff you are really interested in choosing to engineer as your career.

Fees and Scholarships

  • The course fee varies annually and increases to a certain amount each year. The course fee for batch 2013-2017 is INR 88,000 per year.
  • Necessity of loans depends on the financial status of student. Also the college branch of the bank have a comparatively low interest rate for students.

Clubs and Associations

  • There are numerous student societies and clubs entertaining the interest of students. For example Literary and Debating Society, Faces,Phoenix etc.

  • Two grand main festivals take place in the campus namely Ojas- The Annual TechnoManagement Fest(DREAM DARE ACHIEVE) and CULFEST-(AB TO CULFEST HI SWAG HAI). Another fest takes place for Metallurgy students known as TECHNICA in the month of January.

  • College life here is a fusion of all entertainment,shocks,happiness and sadness.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : One can get his/her admission through JEE Mains exam. Mainly the admission depends upon their rank. Generally below 10,000 rank admission is easily possible here.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : I got admission in NIT JAMSHEDPUR by clearing JEE MAIN exam in the year 2013 with electrical and electronics as my stream. The cutoff for EEE BRANCH was 23000 for home state and approx 15000 for outside state students. The college is one of the premiere Institute of our nation and in terms of placement, it holds 2nd position amongst the other Nits.
