Placements and Internships

  • UAS College has got a placement cell.
  • The board of members informs or notifies all the students about the various placements and date of interview to few those who have registered their email Id's.Placement in this college is comparatively low when compared to any other engineering college.
  • Because many of the agro-based companies mainly depend on rainfall condition and response of farmers towards their products.
  • So it varies season to season.
  • Even though well_known key companies like Monsento, Baer, Crystal, UPL and many fertiliser and pesticide companies, seed companies, NGOs etc will recruit the students.
  • An average salary figure will start from Rs 25000 onwards.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

  • College of agriculture, Dharwad is well known for good infrastructure and beautiful green campus with various biodiversity.
  • There is no extreme weather in the college.
  • Good classrooms with audiovisual aids, some classrooms with smart board facilities.
  • The college has got one of the best libraries in the state.
  • It has a rich collection of course books, journals, e-books, competitive books.
  • WiFi facility is available all over the campus for registered students.
  • Apart from this, the college has a good health centre, auditorium, conference hall, modern hall etc.
  • Paying guest rooms are not available on the campus.
  • Separate 4 hostels are there for UG and PG students.
  • Hostels are good but need some improvements. Food is very good at UAS.
  • Mess charges will come up to 3000 per month including room rent and electricity bills.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • Indian council for agriculture research conducts an all India level entrance examination for various post graduate courses,also junior research fellowship will be awarded for minimum students of good merit in the exam(rs.8000 per month).
  • One can write a common admission to masters in farm universities of Karnataka (CAMFU) conducted by all the agricultural universities of Karnataka to get admission in the college.
  • In this exam, 50% marks scored in the entrance exam and 50% marks of academic grade points in UG of an individual are considered for the announcement of merit list.
  • Students can write two preference subjects of their interest. one should score a minimum of 50 marks in the entrance exam to be eligible.

Academics and Faculty

  • Academics has got well-defined course curriculum.central evaluation is followed in the college.
  • Class timings are from 9 am to 5 pm in the evening.
  • Classes are conducted regularly, assignments are given in every subject and also presentation topics are also assigned.
  • Each student is given a land for conduction of research activities.
  • Students are taken to various agro-based industries, agri enterprises, successfull entrepreneurs, all India study tour, state study tour.
  • Semester system of education is being followed for PG, UG and diploma courses.
  • Unversity has adopted the Rural agricultural work experience(RAWE)and experiential learning programme for UG students.
  • The quality and method of teaching are mainly practical oriented.
  • The college promotes overall development of students by organising extracurricular activities like sports,cultural and other recreational and soft skill development activities.
  • It also runs premier youth organisations like NCC,NSS.
  • UAS Dharwad is renowned for good faculty .University has around 400 odd teachers in the position of Professor, associate professor and assistant professor.
  • College stood first among all the agricultural universities in ICAR JRF examination ie. to having a maximum number of JRFs.

Fees and Scholarships

  • For postgraduate students ,the course fee structure is comparatively less when compared other professional degree courses.it will come up to Rs.61730 for two years of post graduation.
  • A number of scholarship options are available for students in this college viz.. merit scholarship, general scholarships, MHRD scholarship, contingency fund, staff research project fellowship, ICAR will provide junior research fellowship for merit students and many other private institutions provide fellowship for the students.
  • Generally, loans are not necessary but it depends on the economic condition of students' family.
  • Every 1 in 10 students gets the merit scholarship at UAS.

Clubs and Associations

  • The college conducts an election every year to form a student's association.
  • This association is mainly run by students and conducts various activities viz., blood donation camp, freshers welcome, environmental day, art mela, cultural programmes, youth day,ethnic day, personality development programmes, communication skill development programmes, annual sports etc.
  • Other clubs, political parties intervention in the campus are not entertained.
  • There is a huge scope for personality development.
  • Resources are available and good at UAS.
