Me being a mechanical student, only a handful of companies come to hire the students from the mechanical department at MITE.
Department is trying it's best to bring forward more companies in the future years.
Students get placed in key companies like Tech Mahindra with a starting salary figure of Rs 15,000- 20,000 per month.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
3.5
I'm a fourth-year student. I stayed in the hostel for my first year when the fee was Rs 54000 for one year.
Although the infrastructure supports the student's mental development, the food facilities aren't up to the mark.
Poor food is one of the reasons many students have to shift to outside flats including me.
Quality of classrooms, labs, Wi-Fi systems are all well and good at MITE.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
I got admission in management seat at MITE where I had to maintain 75% for chemistry and maths in class 12.
I'm paying a tuition fee of Rs 1.75 lakh per year.
Academics and Faculty
2.5
Out of the seven days in a week, all departments has class timings scheduled from Monday to Saturday.
Full day classes from Monday to Wednesday ( 9.00 am to 5 pm) and half day classes during Saturdays.
The workload is a lot which makes the students unable to be a part of other co-curricular activities.
Assignments on a daily basis make it hard for the students to concentrate on their academics.
The college follows an education system where the students are spoon fed and sticks on to just the textbooks which diminish the quality of education.
Students are burdened with workloads which are a major trouble along with the unusual rules by various departments at MITE.
Fees and Scholarships
1.5
The management fee is increased for this academic year along with the NRI seats at MITE.
Scholarship options are provided, although students become unaware of that.
Bank loans do help the students with the payment of fees.
Clubs and Associations
2.5
The college organizes various events. Although students hardly get to participate in the same as the departments make it strict to have an 85% attendance.
Sports day, cultural fest, festivals like Onam, Diwali etc is carried out where student involvement is very less.
To sum up, the life in college isn't exactly what I hoped it would be.
There is more of academics and very less of Co-curricular at MITE.
