Placements and Internships
- Internships and placements are not in good condition nowadays.
- Those who want to get bagged in key companies like Wipro and Infosys, you are welcome here but major core companies have not visited for the last 2 years.
- You will have to do an internship of your own. BIT Patna will do nothing for it.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- As said earlier, hostels are good in BIT Patna.
- The fee is Rs 25000 per semester + mess charge above it.
- It's expensive. No wifi campus but if you have LAN wire and laptop then you can use it in any classroom.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- If you are in general category then the typical cutoff is 1.5 lakh rank in JEE MAIN entrance examination would be limiting line but if you are OBC or SC/ST, then the sky has no limit.
- And yes don't forget to write fill up the form of BIT-Patna separately as it is not in CSAB.
Academics and Faculty
- The campus is very small but well maintained . It has got one of the best locations in Patna.
- We have regular class timings with 75% attendance compulsory.
- It has good hostels and nice transportation facility at BIT Mesra.
- Almost 80% of required lab equipments are present in working condition.
- Now let's talk about teachers and students. Most of the students are from Bihar itself. Students have JEE rank varying from 30,000 to 3.5 lakh ( in 2014) .
- The quality and method of teaching are good and the teachers are well enough to complete the syllabus and please don't expect them to solve IES questions for you.
- But our HOD (civil department) is one of the best faculty on this planet. As far as placement is concerned, it's not in good condition nowadays.
- Those who want to get bagged in companies like Wipro and Infosys, you are welcome here but major core companies have not visited for the last 2 years.
- I considered all the factors of all the types of colleges and compared it with BIT Patna.
- So overall experience is neither too good nor too bad.
Fees and Scholarships
- The annual fee is not fixed but its around Rs 1.6 to 1.8 lakhs per year.
- Scholarship options are there and there is GP scholarship scheme which you will get after scoring more than 8.5 in 2nd semester and further.
- 100% fee waiver can be enjoyed.
- On average 3-4 students from every branch do get this scholarship at BIT Patna.
- You can easily get loans on the name of BIT MESRA. So no worries!
Clubs and Associations
- Not much events and fests take place but you can enjoy the annual main festival on campus event TECHNIKA.
- You can join few student societies and clubs which conducts intra college competitions at BIT Patna.
- The ground is not much but you can enjoy a wide variety of sport if you are interested.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria for joining Birla Institute of Technology is clearing the JEE MAIN exam. The course fee in campus is Rs. 50K for general category students, for OBC it is Rs. 1 lakh and for SC it is Rs. 2 lakh pa.
Academics & Faculty : The institution B.I.T Patna campus is one of the extension centres of the prestigious university B.I.T mesra and is dedicated to the field of Technology and new innovations.The faculties are nice and supportive and students are from good family background. These things makes my college unique and special.
