Placements and Internships
- Internships are offered by companies like Atlas Copco to a few students (5-10).
- This may turn into a job opportunity later.
- Most of the companies looking for recruitment are from the IT sector (Key companies are Infosys, Cognizant, Tech Mahindra, L & T Infotech etc.)
- The average salary figure per year is around Rs 3.2 lakhs per annum, with the highest salary figure being around Rs 4.75 lakhs per annum.
- A lot of people get placed in the IT companies, although the number is dangerously low for core companies at SKNCE Pune.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There around 10-12 hostels for boys and 8-10 for girls. The hostel fees for boys is Rs.55000 per year, inclusive of the mess (Lunch and dinner).
- The fees for NRI hostels is around Rs.20000 or more (without the mess).
- These hostles offer a TV, Washing machine and a small kitchen.
- There are many other options for accommodation in the campus. One can share an apartment or live on a cot basis.
- The hostel mess food is of poor to average quality. But cheap alternatives are available on the campus (as cheap as Rs. 30 for a meal)
- The quality of College classrooms is average and dimly lit. Labs are well equipped. The central library is large but gets filled during the exams.
- Wifi is available at the hostels, but the speeds and range are poor at SKNCE.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- One could get in based on MAH CET or JEE MAIN entrance examination score.
- The typical cutoffs may change every year for getting SKNCE.
Academics and Faculty
- The class timings are from 9.00 am or 12.00 pm depending on one's shift.
- The entire day lasts for about 7 hours, with breaks in between.
- Mock tests are conducted before every University exam.
- The quality and method of teaching are good as far as the University syllabus is concerned, although there are certain teachers preferred for certain subjects.
- The teachers are very committed at SKNCE Pune.
- Overall, the college will keep you busy with lectures, assignments and tests.
Fees and Scholarships
- The course fee per year is around Rs.95000, which may increase every year at SKNCE Pune.
- There are many scholarship options available, depending on one's category or income bracket.
Clubs and Associations
- There is a student society council, with its heads elected every year, can be joined by anyone with a nominal fee.
- Members of the art clubs and societies for the college are very passionate.
- Sinhgad Karandak is supposed to be Pune's largest main festival on the campus of SKNCE college, which lasts for 7 days.

College Infrastructure & Hostel Facilities : The infrastructure is very good. Hostels are available for girls and boys separately. The quality of the classrooms is also good. wifi is also available.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : As it goes students are admitted through CAP rounds. It's actually not that hard to get here. Average grades in 12th and good JEE score at least positive could help you get admitted. I had 91 in JEE Main score and 83% Boards. I got selected in my first round. So cutoffs are 70% above in boards and 50 above in JEE.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : I got admission through CAP rounds directly to the second year because I have completed diploma in mechanical engineering. There is no separate entrance examination for admission. Percentage obtained in your last year diploma course are considered. There are two shifts for mechanical engineering. For 1st shift cut off for open is around 86% and for obc, it is 85% for sc st, It is around 75% and for 2 shift +/- 2 in above figures.
