Placements and Internships
- I have done an internship at Keltron without stipend.
- Key companies like TCS, Qbust, Huawei etc visit our campus for recruitment.
- Rs 7 lakhs per annum is the highest salary figure offered at RIT, Kottayam.
- All core companies except civil engineering visit our campus.
- We have our alumni network in Accenture, CTS, IBM, TCS and much more.
- They frequently visit the college and meetings will be there once in a year.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are 3 ladies hostel, 1 men's hostel and 1 hostel for PG students.
- College hostel rent is Rs 200 per month and an additional mess bill has to be paid according to the mess rate of that month.
- The mess is handled by College hostel mess secretaries and mess directors.
- They'll be elected from the inmates. Due to a limited number of seats in the college hostel students may have to stay outside as paying guest for few years.
- The fee varies according to the facilities. Starting is Rs 4000 for girls and Rs 2000 for men's.
- College canteen and cafeteria meal cost is very low around Rs 20 per meal.
- Wi-Fi is provided at the college and in the hostel.
- The mechanical lab is the best and electronic labs are just okay at RIT, Kottayam.
Academics and Faculty
- We have class timings from 9am in the morning to 4pm in the evening, 1 hour for each session.
- Internal exams will be conducted for each subject and two series in each semester additional to the university exams.
- We have to do a mini project in the 6th semester and main in the final year at RIT, Kottayam.
- Lectures try hard to complete their portions by arranging extra classes if the time is limited. Teaching is not like our school type spoon feeding method. We have to put our brains and explore a lot.
- The quality of the students is higher compared to any other college.
- Cocurricular activities too are given equal importance with academics.
- The overall experience in the college is awesome. Especially for those staying in the hostel will never miss their home as they are always busy.
- Our college always keeps us busy because here everything is done by the students. Even the college hostels are looked after by the students itself.
- The college union is approachable to all students anytime and they readily solve the problems or find a solution to it. Your character and personality completely change and you will become a new improved person after 4 years.
- Many other organizations like NSS, IIST and IEEE is also functioning in RIT.
Fees and Scholarships
- My course fee is ₹7000 per year plus additional bus charges at RIT, Kottayam.
- There is no scholarship option available from college since it is a government institution.
- Educational loans are needed because there is no additional expenses.
- Moma, CSS, KPCR etc are some of the scholarship options you can get which are provided by the government.
- Also, you can apply for many other scholarships too.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria for this course is we have to write Kerala entrance exam organized Kerala government and should secure a decent rank for getting admission to this college.I wrote the joint entrance exam, Cat CAT exam and finally, Kerala entrance exam.The typical cutoff for this course is that we have to score at least 40 marks out of 100 for each subject in university exams and also secure a grand total of 75 marks out of 150 for the pass.
