Placements and Internships
- In most of the colleges, the vocational training is not provided by the college. One has to find the place and then apply for that on his own.
- I , being a MECH student, completed my VT from SCW, Birla Corp. Ltd. Satna MP. It was a good experience. the training program is usually 2/4 weeks.
- I must say that in GITS bp, the college provides major training for CSE and IT branch, but one like MECH and Civil student has to find the option outside the college which is usually common for most of the colleges because unlike CSE or EC, in MECH and Civil one is required Industrial Training. Colleges also provide some software base training for all the branches like C,C++ common for all, Autocad, Solidworks, Ansys for MECH, UNIX for CSE etc.
- The placements in MECH and CIVIL branch are very low as compared to CSE,EC etc, because TCS,Infosys,Wipro,Tech-Mahindra usually takes CSE,EC students for their company because their requirement is for them is more as compared to MECH.
- Most of the colleges in MP does not provide the internship. One has to find an option himself/herself.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- In MP, The colleges are not very spacious but some of them do have the large area, such as GEC Jabalpur, SRIT Jabalpur, and some other colleges too outside Jabalpur. Speaking about Classroom, most of the prestigious colleges have projectors, AC facilities, Meeting halls, Seminar Halls, Cross ventilated rooms and neat and clean environment of study. GITS,SRIT,Global (Jabalpur) , LNCT, Oriental (Bhopal), Vaishnav ITS(Indore) are some of the prestigious colleges in MP.
- Every college has Libraries and labs. One of the best libraries and labs can be seen in above mentioned prestigious colleges.
- Colleges have canteen facilities too, quality is Good and varieties are also available in above mentioned colleges.
- Not every but some of the colleges provides hostel facilities too. There are separate hostels for boys and girls. The fee for rooms varies from 1500-2500/month usually.
- PG's are not provided by colleges, however, some other options may be available with a little more expenses and facilities too. The monthly expenses will my approx Rs.3000-4000/month (ROOM+FOOD).
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The eligibility criteria have changed a lot from my admission time to present time for B.E. I got the admission through MPPET 2013.
- Right now there are mainly 2 ways to enter. First by JEE marks and then CLC(college level counseling).
- If you get good marks and seeking for Govt/semi govt colleges in MP for B.E. then GEC Jabalpur, SGSITS, SATI are some of the good options.
- If you get average or a little better than Avg marks then you may go for private engineering colleges. LNCT Bhopal, Oriental, and if in Jabalpur then GITS would be a good option for Graduation.
- Further for branches like MECH and CIVIL, the cutoff is higher than other branches.
Academics and Faculty
- Daily classes usually start at 9-9:30 and ends at 4-4:20 in most of the colleges in MP.
- In GITS, there are 7 lectures 6 days in a week. And there is only one break of 30 mins for lunch.
- In most of the colleges, there are only 6 legs 6 days in a week. And there are 2 breaks.
- In some of the colleges, there are 6 legs 5 days in a week. And usually 2 breaks.
- Quality and Method of Teaching,
- Most of the colleges are affiliated to RGPV and follow the guidelines of RGPV. Changes are made in faculty time to time, and some of the colleges have highly educated and skilled faculty. (won the basis of their popularity.)
- My overall experience is between Avg and good. Because some of the faculty is new and they have trouble regarding the understanding of students problem due to lack of experience. But in this case, one can freely go to experienced faculty to clear the doubts.
Fees and Scholarships
- For Private colleges
- Fee is approx 60000/per year, Avg of all colleges in Jabalpur,
- For Bhopal and Indore, it is 10000-20000 higher.
- However, in Govt/semi govt colleges, Fee is very much less as compared to private colleges.
- There are a number of scholarships are available for different categories of students. It covers students from different categories such an SC,ST,OBC and GEN too.

Clubs and Associations
- IN GITS Jabalpur we have a membership of SAE India.
- We organize 1 or 2 events in a year. ABHIYANTRIKI 2k15 was the last big event that we organized.
- Many other colleges also have different memberships from different organizations.
- However, it does not affect the academics quality. and most of the clubs are only responsible for organizing events, which are only once or twice in a year.
- As said, THIS DOES NOT AFFECT THE ACADEMICS QUALITY.

Placements & Internships : I did my internship from Narmada Gelatine factory. The companies which visit Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology and Sciences are only IT sector companies. TCS, TATA Tech and Tech Mahindra these are some regularly visiting key companies. The highest salary figure is around Rs 4.8 lakhs per annum only.
Placements & Internships : Tata motors TCS (tata consultant service), Mahindra, Wipro & etc. comes for the placements. Average package is Rs 3-5 LPA approximately.
