I did an internship at National institute of rock mechanics Bangalore. However, there was no stipend provided. But all the expenses were reimbursed from NIT, Surathkal itself.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are around 13-14 hostels in the campus of NIT Surathkal.
- The hostel fee is Rs.17800 per semester. Of which mess fee is Rs.12000.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
Students have to clear JEE MAIN (JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION) in which 1.5 million students write exam every year. Only top 1% get admission in NIT surathkal.
Fees and Scholarships
- Yes, loans are needed to poor students for studying in NIT, Surathkal.
- No scholarships are not that easily available. However they are easily available to sc/st students.
Clubs and Associations
There are many student societies like iste,IEEE, IE,ACM,BAJA,and many other clubs. There are many fest of which 'incident' is 2nd biggest cultural fest in south India.

Academics & Faculty : Daily class hour is of approx 6-8 hours . 10 hours per week on assignment. Quality and method of teaching is entirely different and best in my point of view. Overall experience is awesome in academic as well as in game section. One more benefit is beach on one side of college which makes it different from all and good for the refreshment of mind.
