Linsha Arackel's Review on Mar Baselios Institute of Technology And Science, Kothamangalam

Placements for civil engineering are very few. Mostly companies that come for placements are software companies and salary that they offer are 8 to 20 k. Most of the students get placed in BPOs and few in small software companies.

• Hostel facility is just for girls. Hostel fee is 4500 per month. Food in college is good.
• Wifi is available in girls hostel.
• Condition pf Labs, library, halls, classrooms are very good must say.

Main criteria of selection is KEAM Examination.

• My college is located approximately 6 to 8 km from kothamangalam town. I graduated this year i.e 2016. I am the 4th passing out batch from this college as MBITS college started in 2009.
• It has a total 5 streams for btech i.e ce,me,eee,ec and cs..ce and me has 2 sections and rest 3 got 1 each..so more strength is in civil, and M.tech for computer science.
• MBITS is a self financing college. Faculty here are pretty good and experience, it has extraordinary labs for all streams. The problems in ths college are students are spoon fed.
• Students get frustrated and stressed because of the frequent exams and target marks put by each department. Few teachers are from NIT(mtech)
• Class timings in MBITs are from 9 to 4. Assignments are not sressful neither labs or projects. Teachers are cooperative and helpful during course of project and seminars. My experience on this college was like i studied in school.

• The fees for a management student is 95,000 Rs. For merit students it was 65,000 Rs.  
• There are few scholarships available to the top students and merit students though the process is tiresome.
• 10 to 12 students gets scholarship in each class and student loans are easily available

There are many clubs like NSS IEEE etc. College life is fine as management is very strict and sometimes it becomes very difficult.
