Maitreyi College offers a wide range of courses along with necessary support, guidance and advice which is a characteristic feature of a dynamic and successful College. There is no system of back to back classes and students get around 1-2 hours free after every class. Although students are allowed to take doubt classes or extra classes in that time period. All the classes get over by 4-5 p.m. There are a lot of socities for the students to join. We have a semester system which consists of total 6 semesters. Since it’s a girls college, majority of the faculty is female as well. There is a good mix of senior and junior professors, all of whom are quite friendly and never hold grudges. The teaching is excellent. All the staff is very helpful and cooperative. Teachers take quite an effort to help students with their studies.

There is no official foreign exchange program. A few foreign unversities do come to the college and students can apply and get selected on the basis of their previous year score and some other exams. Communication is predominantly in English, which may be a problem for vernacular-medium students. The college doesn't offer any foreign language course.

Students can easily find Pg's near the campus. Although at some places they charge high rent. The canteen is quite crowded most of the time. It has an excellent variety of options. The Chowmein, (priced at Rs. 15) students will tell you, is fantastic. There are a lot of restraunts nearby including Taj CCD. Satyaniketan and sarojini nagar market is the hub of students here.

There are a lot of clubs, associations and societies in the college. The dance, fashion and dramatics society of the college is very famous in DU. Sports is not that popular in campus and they have an average infrastructure for sports.

The nanotechnology department at Maitreyi College is co-ed, so you do see boys once in a while. Other departments are girls-only. The college being only girls’ college, you will find some of the girls a little conservative. Some of them find it hard mixing with the other crowd. We hold an intercollege fest, by the name 'Rhapsody' in the month of February. Otherwise there are always official and unofficial parties going on. We have college freshers, departmental freshers (both offcial and unofficial) and many more.
