Placements and Internships
- Currently I am doing internship in abhilash consultancy for which stipend depend on work.
- Goldman sachs , Flipkart ,Fuzzylogics,Facebook ,Infosys ,Schlumberger etc around 250 companies were came last year(2015-2016) in my campus.
- Last year's total placements is 1296. My branch placement is around 90% and package is around Rs 10 lakh per anum.
College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are 10-12 hostels for boys and 2-3 hostels for girls. Hostels are good but in some hostels rooms are small. Hostel rent is Rs 2,500 for one semester.
- Food quality is somehow good for some days.
- There is LHC hall for lectures and some lecture halls also available in each departement. One Computer Center is available.Mahatma Gandhi Central Library(MGCL) is the central library in IIT roorkee and department library is also there for each departement.Wi-Fi connection is very fast.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- By qualifying JEE main you are eligible to write JEE advance and by qualifying jee advance you get a rank and rank-wise you get a IIT's and respective course.
- My course rank was between 2000-3000 for general category students.
Academics and Faculty
- My daily routine is from 8am-6pm in between 1pm-2pm we have lunch time.
- Quality of teaching is good. Some teachers are very strict and there method of teachig is very good which can easily understand by students.
- My experience in college is better thanks to cognizance, thomso and sport fest and more important the environment of IIT roorkee.
Fees and Scholarships
- For General and OBC category students per semester fees is Rs 45,000 excluding mess and hostel fees.
- Inspire scholarship is available for which eligibility criteria is CGPA is greater than 6. For some students MCM scholarship is available for which eligibility criteria is annual income of your father is less than Rs 4.5 lakh and CGPA is greater than 6.
- For MCM top 25 percentile get the scholarship.
- Students can get loan from SBI and PNB bank which are located in campus itself.
Clubs and Associations
- There are groups such as Heartbeat, Kshitij, student's club, web desiging, cinema club , star gazing ,HEC etc and many more.
- Cognizance is the technical festival of IIT roorkee.Thomso is the annual youth festival of IIT roorkee. Sangram is the sports festival and sankalp and many more.
- My college life is enjoyable thanks to the fests , friends, environment of IIT roorkee.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : To get admission in IIT Roorkee, I had to qualify JEE Advance entrace exam. Also, my 12th class marks had to be more than 80 percentile. The entrance exams i took were JEE Mains, JEE Advance and WBJEE. For my cousre your AIR in JEE Advance should be around 5000.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : The admission procedure to the IIT Roorkee program is taken by the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced. The Eligibility Criteria is that the student should have passed class 12th with a minimum of 60% marks in all subjects.
