College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities
- There are about 10 to 12 hostels for boys and 3 to 4 hostels for girls and the hostel fee is Rs 2500 per semester.
- The food in college is average and Mess fee is Rs 12000 for each semester.
- Classrooms, Labs , Libraries, Dining halls are all in very good condition and of excellent quality. Wifi is available in every hostel along with LAN.
Entrance Exams and Admissions
- The eligibility criteria is after 12th board.
- We can sit for the exam called JEE entrance Mains And after qualifying in JEE mains. WE have to qualify in JEE advanced to get a seat in any IIT.
- Cutoff for my branch is about 2000 - 3000 (General rank )
Academics and Faculty
- Class timings vary from day to day but it is in between 8 AM to 6 PM. There are two exams - one mid sem and another end sem.
- The quality and method of teaching is excellent here.
- The overall experience of college is wonderful.
Fees and Scholarships
- My course fee is about Rs 50000 per semester i.e Rs 100000 per year excluding mess and hostel fees.
- There are many scholarships available for students. Few of them are Merit cum means scholarship and inspire scholarship.
- Inspire scholarship are available for only MSc And BSc students having cgpa >=6 and MCM scholarship, eligibility criteria is Family annual income Below Rs 4.5 lacs , cgpa >=6 and top 25 percentile .
- You can take loans easily from the bank like SBI and PNB available in the campus.
Clubs and Associations
- There are many groups,student societies and association on campus. Famous ones like IMG , SDS labs, Students clubs, Himalayan explorer club, and many more.
- Our tech festival is Cognizance which is Asia's second largest technical festival and our cultural fest is THOMSO which is also one of the largest cultural festival of India.
- Life in college is full of fun with high quality study and Internet.

Its foundation was laid in 1847 and was previously known as Thomson College of Engineering, based on the founder of the college. Since 2001, it has been recruiting through IIT-JEE and JEE-Advanced. Entrance Exams & Admissions : To get admission in IIT Roorkee, I had to qualify JEE Advance entrace exam. Also, my 12th class marks had to be more than 80 percentile. The entrance exams i took were JEE Mains, JEE Advance and WBJEE. For my cousre your AIR in JEE Advance should be around 5000.
Entrance Exams & Admissions : The admission procedure to the IIT Roorkee program is taken by the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced. The Eligibility Criteria is that the student should have passed class 12th with a minimum of 60% marks in all subjects.
