There is a central library with more than 1crore books in it. All the aforesaid places are Wi-fi enabled including the dining halls which are very clean, and have a large space to accommodate all the students.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • The eligibility for the course I am enrolled in was bachelors in science/engineering, and there was a centralized admission system based on the all India rank obtained in the qualifying entrance examination.
  • I took the examination called JAM (Joint Admission Test for M.Sc.) for selection in this course.
  • For admission here the cutoff rank was AIR 275 in our batch. Typically, the cutoff is below AIR 300.

Academics and Faculty

4.5

  • We mostly have 3-5 hours of class between 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. Some professors do assign projects in their coursework. Officially we have 2 quizzes, one mid-sem, and one final exam, which also vary from prof. to prof., some of whom also give assignments for better understanding of the topics.
  • The quality of teaching is very nice, and the teaching method comprises of lectures with in-class tutorials to enhance problem solving skills of the students.
  • The overall experience of the institute is very good with a great scope for scientific research.

Fees and Scholarships

3.5

  • Course fee is Rs 75 thousand per year.
  • There are institute scholarships, and some private scholarships are also available to the students.
  • Around 15-20% of the students get the scholarship.
  • Sometimes loans are needed for fee payment. Leading banks like SBI, Canara Bank etc. are easily providing the loans.

Clubs and Associations

4.5

  • There are many student societies working on various fields; like PG & UG council for respective bodies, Cultural association for cultural development, institute dance club, sports club, Photographic club, mountaineering club, Dramatics association etc. There are many scientific societies and clubs like Robotics club, MSI (Mars Society India), Kritika (for space exploration) etc. working in the campus. Many states also have their respective cultural socities for the advancement of their cultures among the students.
  • For technology there is Techfest (Asia's largest college technological festival), Mood Indigo (Asia's largest college cultural festival), Inter IIT sports (sports meet of all IITs), Avenues (the management school annual festival).
  • The life in college actually vary from person to person, and it also depends on the persons ability to tackle things. Sometimes it seems pressurizing during exams, and chilling during the culturals and festivals. In general, the life in campus is very good; a lot of scope in almost every field, you get enough chance to explore yourself with a lot of enthusiasts in your company.
