Placements and Internships

4

  • The Science courses do not have placements as such, but the innovation projects and internships at research centres has no limits.
  • A student gets to work through out the year if he or she is involved in projects that the teachers offer. Whereas, the placements in the commerce department are very nice. Last year, 6 of my friends received an INR 10 lakh package.
  • The internship cell as well as the placements cell work very hard to get the top companies to the college.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

3.5

  • The classrooms are good but sadly they do not have air conditioners.
  • There is a satisfactory Wi-Fi service inside the premises.
  • The canteen is one of the best among the DU canteens with a lot of variety to offer.
  • A new academic block has been built in the college.
  • The college has recently inaugurated its girl hostel whereas the boys hostel has been there for a very long time now. However the seats in hostel are purely based on the marks a student scores. But even if a student doesn't get a seat in the hostel, he still has various PG and flat options available which are at walling distances from the college.

Academics and Faculty

4.5

  • Studying in the best science college of Delhi University is a dream and it goes without saying that Hindu college has an excellent faculty, especially for chemistry.
  • They have the best organic chemistry teachers.
  • The lab staff are very helpful and cooperative.
  • Overall, the charm of Hindu college and the academics go together very well.

Fees and Scholarships

5

  • The fees for a year at Hindu J. Chemistry Hons is INR 26,000/- The students can avail the INSPIRE scholarship. Those who score more than the cut off of INSPIRE get the scholarship every year.
  • Loans are not needed as the fees is very minimal.

Different colleges of the University of Delhi release their cut-offs for the PCM aggregate and there are limited seats so the admission is on First come first serve basis. The cutoffs vary  every year for each category. For general students in 2013, it was 96.3.
