Placements and Internships

3.5

  • The number of internships or job offers are somewhat limited within your span or engineering career here but one can become a part of the numerous startup companies or student bodies that there are in the college which gives students a lot of exposures and experience.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

  • The quality of classrooms is very state of the art. We have air conditioned classrooms with wifi enabled in the new academic blocks with a seating capacity of close to a hundred or more in each. The labs are all fully equipped with all the latest equipment and software required.
  • The MIT Central Library is housed in a separate building with a total area of about 70,000 sq ft. The library has DELNET membership, a network of libraries which seeks to promote resource sharing.
  • The library uses EASYLIB, a software package to automate all the functions of the library. Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) and Internet-enabled Public Access Catalogue (E-PAC) is provided for students and staff.
  • We also have a fully Wi-Fi enabled campus. Commuting to the campus is mainly done by foot although some prefer to use the bicycle. Going to and fro around the city can be done in auto-rickshaws or city buses. One can also hire taxis.

Academics and Faculty

3.5

  • Quite logically this is not an IIT and hence I cannot say that this is the best engineering institute in the country and to be honest, MIT-Manipal was not and still isn't anybody's first preference as the college to be, be it private or government. Nonetheless, the students here aren't any less competitive than students from an IIT. Here students have a holistic and an all round development to become responsible individuals of the society.
  • We have two sessionals of fifteen marks each coupled with five surprise tests of four marks each which add up to fifty and which constitute the internals for each subject. Then we have the end semester examinations which consist of the other fifty. The academics is pretty much up to standard.
  • The faculty is pretty sincere as well. Being a private institution, the teachers and professors are always under the scanner and hence the high level of teaching. All the teachers are local people who live inside or around the college campus and hence are easily accessible after class.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The admission in Manipal is through mouet exam which is conducted by MIT itself and is independent of JEE Mains rank. The cutoff for each branch varies Like for CSE it's between 1 - 1500 rank And likewise for other branches. I took muoet to get into this college. it has three branches one in Jaipur one in Manipal and last in Sikkim which has its own recruitment test.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : For entering Manipal Institute of technology you need to clear MUOET. They set a different cutoff for different branches. Mit is one of the prestigious colleges of India. I took MUOET for entering Mit along with that I gave BITSAT, JEE MAIN, JEE ADVANCED, VITEEE etc. The cutoff for my branch i.e Computer and communication engineering it was set around 118.
