There are both, the Boys and the Girls hostels. The Boys hostel is within the college campus and the Girls hostel is at a distance of around 1 km from the college. Boys hostel is quiet good and the fees is Rs 22,000 per semester and for Girls it is Rs 23,000. If a student wants to live in the hostel from the first year he/she can. Depending upon the accomodation either 2 or 3 students can live in a room in both the girls and the boys hostel. There is attatched toilet/bathroom in each of the room. Bed, study table and shelf is provided in each of the rooms. Mess facility is also available but the food is not very healthy but edible.
Considering all the colleges in Chhattisgarh BIT,DURG is a college which focuses a lot in studies. Around 80 percent of the faculties are very experienced and have a very good knowledge of the subjects, which has not been seen in any other college of the state. The students who clear either GATE or CAT, are 90 percent BITans. Classes start on time, all the lectures and practical labs are counted in the final semester results. Overall experience in the is quiet good.
Various types of clubs are there for each of the activities. There is NSS and NCC clubs in the college. There are various co-curricular activities like basketball, cricket, football, etc and competitions are also held at intercollege level/ inter branch level. Equal opportunity is given to each of the students depending upon their abilities. Our college does have its own student union which represent our college in university and each class has its own class representative. The is no gender inequality. The boys to girls ratio in every branch is around 60:40 except in the mechanical.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The eligibility criteria for this college was an entrance exam. As this is the topmost college of Bhilai so this college took only people with high rank. I took the entrance examination and got a good rank good enough to get electronics and telecommunication branch in this. The cut off was rank 800.

The admission process requires your Adhaar card 12th marks card, domicile, migration certificate, transfer certificate, your photos. I have both JEE and CGPT as entrance exam Cutoffs for general candidates were about and for electronic and telecommunications was for round 1-84 round 2-83 and 83 for round 3.
