Placements and Internships

4

  • The placement cell at MIT Manipal is quite active. There are a number of key Multinational companies visiting the campus to hire students into technical fields. Some of the companies coming to the campus include Microsoft, Oracle, TCS, Accenture, H.P, Tata Motors,WIPRO,GE Healthcare, Reliance, Amazon, L&T and much more. Internships are offered through various international clubs like IEEE, AIESTE, AIESEC. These include both technical and nontechnical internships. So basically MIT is the horizon for people who think about getting placed in good companies and securing decent jobs.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4.5

  • MIT, Manipal was established in the year 1957 and is the oldest private institute in the country.
  • The infrastructure is amazing. Manipal as a town is famous just because of Manipal University. Though it traces its history in the later 1950's the place remains up to date. It is a student hub. The sports complex Marena is the biggest one in South Asia and has high-class facilities for all the people who believe in staying fit. Hence it can be said Manipal has an amazing infrastructure and could easily be rated as one of the best in the country. If the infrastructure is what you are looking for, then MIT Manipal is what awaits you.

Academics and Faculty

4

  • At MIT Manipal the curriculum includes the all-round development of a student. The academic year is divided into 2 semesters i.e Odd Semester and Even Semester. The marking system includes the cumulative grade point average (CGPA). The system is divided in such a way that nobody is stressed out at the end of the day yet it is effective and has a long lasting impact on the students. CGPA is just a number and more emphasis is laid on how well a person can apply whatever they learn. Therefore academics wise MIT Manipal can be rated very much satisfactory.
  • The another thing which should be noted here is that the system at MIT works only on the basis of merit, unlike other private engineering colleges.
  • The faculty is high qualified and the quality and method of teaching are good in their subjects. I'd be lying to you if I said that we have the best faculty. But at the end of the day faculty is not the main factor you need to consider for joining a college. The faculty though is above average.

Fees and Scholarships

3

  • The course fees at MIT Manipal is on the higher side compared to other colleges. Though they are scholarships options provided to the students who secure ranks below 1000 in MUOET (Manipal University Online Entrance test). The only way one can join this college.
  • The fee waiver offered to the students depends on the annual income of the student's family. There is scholarship priovided to students of Konkan region. On the whole MIT Manipal has a higher fees and if you think through financial angle then it is a little risky as a choice.

Clubs and Associations

4.5

  • The campus of MIT Manipal is always buzzing with activities of various student-run societies, clubs, and organizations. They are indeed one the best platforms to showcase your talent or to develop a new one. The college is lit up by two fests- Techtatva ( The national tech fest of MIT taking place in an odd semester (August to December)) and Revels ( The national cultural fest of MIT taking place in the even semester (January-may). Then there is also UTSAV the INTRA MANIPAL UNIVERSITY sports and cultural fest also taking place in the even semester.
  • The fests are organized completely by the Student Council of MIT. There are roughly 30 clubs at MIT. A few technical ones which have been doing really well are Robot Manipal, Formula Manipal, Aero MIT, MUTBI, Parikshit and much more. The presence of international organizations further betters the life at MIT. These include IEEE, AIESTE, AIESEC. The student's response to these clubs is something to be appreciated. These clubs help to get the best out of every student. There are various clubs which are driven by passion such as the AAINA, ADA and DRAMANON dramatics club, Literary and debates club, photography club and various others. Then there are clubs which have a social cause involved. These include Rotaract club, VSO, and RedX. the life at MIT is incomplete without these clubs. Hence there is an all-round development of the student.

Entrance Exams & Admissions : The admission in Manipal is through mouet exam which is conducted by MIT itself and is independent of JEE Mains rank. The cutoff for each branch varies Like for CSE it's between 1 - 1500 rank And likewise for other branches. I took muoet to get into this college. it has three branches one in Jaipur one in Manipal and last in Sikkim which has its own recruitment test.
