There are societies in the college that prepare you for the dream job. Societies like Internship Cell has a great history of recruiters as well. Internship fares are organized on campus. Hans Raj has a rich alumni network, almost in every field. Hans Raj is infamous for being known as the college where Shah Rukh Khan got his college degree; it also boasts of CEOs and chairmen of various MNCs like Mr. Naveen Jindal from Jindal Steel & Co., Aditya Jha, Richard Rekhy and so on.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4

Hans Raj College has hostel facilities but with limited seats only for each department. The hostel fees are quite reasonable; it is yearly payable and amounts to INR 8000 to INR 9000 per month. The hostel is neat, and the food is great. But due to high competition and limited seats, everyone is unable to get in.

The PGs can be expensive. The average rent per month stands at INR 20,000. The food and lodging might not be the very best. But if you can afford to go above the INR 20,000 limits, it is possible to get you the very best PGs in Delhi. It is expensive but worth every penny. It has a canteen, lounge and neat little rooms. People also share flats in Delhi, which is a good alternative but requires a lot of maintenance.

The classrooms are spacious and big at Hans Raj. There are three separate buildings on the campus. They have air-conditioned rooms with projectors for interactive sessions. The labs are the very best and have all the required apparatus and equipment. The college has recently installed Wi-Fi and has a very pretty library.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

The eligibility criteria for a bachelor's degree at Hans Raj College is pretty straightforward and like every other college in India.

  • Candidates must have passed 10+2.
  • A candidate must clear the minimum cut-off for their desired programs.
  • There is no age limit for the UG programs.
  • The eligibility criteria may vary according to the category of the candidate.

There are no entrance exams for courses at Hans Raj college; they are based on the 10+2 aggregate, i.e., the best of four subjects. The typical cut-off for English is about 95% for General and a 5-6% relaxation for the SC, STs, and OBCs. It has to be kept in mind that the best of four must include English and three other subjects from Economics, History, Geography, Mathematics, Philosophy, Sociology, Political Science and Psychology. Including any other subjects will lead to a reduction in the aggregate marks by 1%.

DU is known for its student societies. You name an area of interest, and you got it. There are a wide range of societies that provide you a ton of experience. For example, Hans Raj has one of the best Drama societies in the whole of DU. Also, the Music society Swaranjali is well known throughout DU. They go for inter-college competitions and IITs all over India to showcase their talents.

Hans Raj holds sports meet and organized various cultural events on campus. The fest season, January-March, is when all the colleges get vibrant and colorful with their fests. It is a great time to showcase your skills and earn some experience.
