Placements and Internships

3.5

  • ICFAI has a summer internship programme after year one and year two. The placements are given in advance.
  • Some key companies offer placements, such as Wipro and Oracle, however hiring rates are extremely low for more esteemed companies.
  • There's a significant alumni population, so remember to network and have a backup option for placements, as it's very competitive.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

4

  • I'm told the hostels are pretty decent and are required for MBA students. Unfortunately, there's not many PG's nearby as the campus is on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
  • Food from the canteen is cheap but bland, the on-campus cafe is more expensive but sells all kinds of snacks and meals.
  • Things break down often, as can be expected with such a large student body, but the campus grounds are well-maintained, and it's wonderful to spend time there.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

  • The admissions process involves grade assessments and a face-to-face interview.
  • It's important to submit all the requisite documents on the day of admissions.
  • The interview questions will be based on general knowledge, reasons for joining, your previous academic achievements, etc.
  • There's no grade cutoff.

Academics and Faculty

4

  • The daily routine can be gruelling for the first year, as most foundational courses are placed here, with full days of classes and one break.
  • The time between classes is decent for traversing the campus, at 15 minutes.
  • After the first two semesters, the class load becomes considerably lighter, with between 3-6 hour-long classes depending on the day of the week.
  • Teachers vary in quality dramatically. However, most are decent and do appreciate students putting in extra effort, such as class participation and visiting during office hours. There are some bad apples, which is inevitable in any college.

Fees and Scholarships

3

  • ICFAI Business School, [IBS] Hyderabad Fee Structure. The course fee is about INR 2.3 Lakh per year, so 7.1 Lakh in total for three years.
  • There is a scholarship given to students who score above 9 CGPA. The scholarship will cover a percentage of the tuition fee according to the grades.
  • The amount of those who get scholarships is decent, around 10%.

Clubs and Associations

3.5

  • There are many clubs, and many more are created each year, but the main ones have to do with student cultural events, business skills, photography, and social causes.
  • Student life is pretty relaxed. Everyone gets along. Most seniors are pretty friendly and will help you out with getting used to textbooks or notes.
  • In addition, there are annual festivals and cultural events at least once a month.
