Placements and Internships

1.5

  • I did an internship with a Pvt. Ltd. organic food manufacturing company during my college. I got the opportunity through campus recruitment and was paid a stipend of INR 5,000. I was recruited as a quality control intern for six months.
  • Truly speaking, not many companies visit the campus for placements. Only a few companies recruit computer science students. For the remaining courses, the placements are not good.
  • The average salary offered is INR 3 lakhs (per annum), and the highest could reach upto INR 6 lakhs (per annum). From a batch of 50 students, only 20 would get placed through college.
  • Also, the alumni network available is not strong, and there is a huge scope for improvement in the placements and training cell.

College Infrastructure and Hostel Facilities

3

  • There are separate hostels for boys and girls, and they are located on two different campuses. They are really good and up to the mark. There are different options for triple, double and single sharing rooms. Both AC and non-AC rooms with attached washrooms are available. The hostels are equipped with wi-fi, laundry service, cleaning service etc. The hostel fee for a month is around INR 10,000, with food included.
  • The PG's and other outside accommodations are also available near the college, which would cost around INR 8,000 per month.
  • Good quality food is available in a mess. The menu is pre-decided and special food is served weekly. A wide variety of options are available in each meal. Proper hygiene is maintained in a mess, and meals are provided four times a day. The mess charges are included in the hostel fees themselves.
  • The quality of infrastructure at the campus needs improvement. For example, only a few classrooms are equipped with a projector. All the classrooms should be converted into smart class. The college should improve the labs and install new instruments.
The quality of dining halls and libraries are fairly good.

Entrance Exams and Admissions

The eligibility criteria consist of:

  1. Scoring more than 60% in 12th (HSC)
  2. Aptitude test (not more than 50 questions)
  3. Applying through the website by filling out the form

The typical cut-off for pursuing B.Tech is 60% marks.

Academics and Faculty

2

  • The college operates for six working days, including Saturdays, and the class timings are from 9 AM to 3.30 PM. In addition, regular assignments and projects are given for evaluation.
  • The quality of teaching is average, and an offline classroom mode of teaching is used. Teachers take regular lectures and strictly monitor the performance of the candidates.
  • The overall experience in terms of academics has been good.

Fees and Scholarships

2

  • Jaipur National University, [JNU] Jaipur Fee Structure. The course fee for B.Tech is around 1 lakh per year, exclusive of the examination fees.
  • The students with more than 80% marks in the 12th standard are offered scholarships based on their percentage. Therefore, scholarships upto INR 20,000 are offered to the students.

Clubs and Associations

2

  • Drama club, dance club, sports club etc. are amongst the few clubs available in the college. The college lags in societies and clubs. A lot of scope for improvement is available.
  • The main festival on campus is technorazz. It is a 3-day college fest in which different colleges participate, and many competitions are held. It is a fun event and culminates with a DJ night in the end. It is a cultural fest that includes both technical and non-technical fun events.
  • A sports fest named JOSH is also organized to promote sports activities in the college.
College life, in general, is good.
