Teaching quality is excellent compared to the IITS. Overall experience is very good for me. It's atmosphere is excellent. I am very proud that I am a student of Jadavpur University.

Fees are less than your pocket money. Fees are very less except IT which is about 20000 thousand

Don't talk about placement, placements are not only good, it's excellent. Jadavpur University is compared to the IITS. Many big companies come here for placements. So, you don't need to worry about placement, just focus on your study.

Admission at Jadavpur University is done through WBJEE exam ( mainly). But there are 10% seats which are for jee-main candidates. You have to give WBJEE exam which conducted by WBJEE board every year. You have to pass your 12th with 60% in PCM. The cutoff for b.tech below 2000. But if you want to a good branch then you have to work more on WBJEE exam.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY: Jadavpur University Academics is full of relevant Subjects. The classes are regular. All professors are also regular in the classes. They are available outside of the classes. Quality of Teaching & methodology are very good & up to date. Got good projects which improves the learning. In the 8 semester for each subject we have two class tests.
FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP: Collage fee is very less compared to other collages. About Rs. 6000 spent as fee during 4 years of University life. Bank loan were also available for the needy students.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY: pros- (1) Very less fees ~2500 p.a (2) decent infrastructure (3) excellent peer group cons -(1) Quality and methodology of teaching is poor (2) Less academic pressure (3) average placements for core branches but excellent for CSE and IT (4) Not much freedom in choosing subject of your choice.
FEES AND SCHOLARSHIP: Money is the last thing you would worry about. College fee ~2500 p.a which is very less, even so scholarships are available to the needy and also who don't.
PLACEMENTS & ALUMNI NETWORK: Placements are average for core branches with companies like Maruti,Tata Steel etc visiting campus...

Master of Technology [M.Tech], batch of 2015 7/10
  • Pros- Quality education with good ambience and campus life, professors are regular in class and have excellent teaching skills, classes are held on a regular basis with timely assignments, prudent infrastructure, cheap fees, availability of softwares useful while doing research work, access to various technical digital libraries for instance IEEE,Elsevier,Taylor & Francis, decent research environment, numerous cheap food joints, restaurants and canteens nearby the university.
