  • If you consider academics as your highest priority for selection of an engineering college, joining vidyalankar won't be a regretful decision for you. Daily routine is 9 to 5 ...typical office timings with occasional 9 to 6 a day or 2 in a week inclusive of one short and one long break. I personally find the schedule bit extensive as the break timing could have increased by 5 -15 mins more especially long break. Mostly teachers complete 60-70% portion however depending on the students ' interest teachers keep sharing knowledge out of books relating to recent technologies. Quality of teaching is really good and notes are also provided sometimes for better understanding. method of teaching is quite interactive and teachers are also available after hours if you need help for extra projects or those that are assigned already. Labs are available after hours up to 8 pm on request and also on off days if students are interested in using the lab. This system of making labs available to students helps them with their project work and also encourage s them to take up any if they are interested. Written assignments are completely boring and useless as they don't help you to learn something new or push you to think hard to apply what has been learned by you. It is nothing but merely a handwriting practice for you. Pop quizes and induction seminars are conducted which help the students to understand their subject a little more. Exam patterns is Mumbai university based so won't be commenting anything on that.... Reading room and reference Library is available for students to sit after hours and do their work. Various courses and competitions are conducted by the college apart from those included in curriculum for students to develop skills that make them industry ready. Also mock interviews and GDA s are conducted to improve the vocal skills of students. Overall experience on academic basis is excellent in Vit.

  • College fees definitely depends on which caste you belong to. For open category fees is INR 1.35 lakhs per anum however for other categories it is INR 60000 to 70000 .
  • Depending on facilities available in college and activities conducted the fee is payable.
  • No scholarship is available for open category students.
  • Scholarships are available for SC, ST, OBC or other backward classes.
  • No provisions for loans in college.

Placements & Alumni Network

6 /10

  • Alumini network is yet developing and is average. Talking about campus placements mostly there are IT companies. Electronics hardly 1 or 2 companies come for placements. Average salary given is INR 1 to 2.5 lakhs per anum. Highest is INR 35lakhs per anum offered to 2 students so far by some IT company. Internships from college have been started from this year onwards but they have not been much helpful to students so far. Internships done by me are : Sem 1: Digital marketing and content selecting(not by college).

Infrastructure & Transportation

5 /10

  • There is one hostel in nerul but the college is in wadala so it is not very convincing to join hostel instead ohu students stay as PG in flats in wadala or near churchgate. No idea of cost. Talking about food in college, food in canteens is not that good but is edible. Hygiene is canteen has been maintained however quantity of food has been falling down the slope. Canteens close after 7 so students waiting in students are left with food availability in vending machines if available. Prices in canteens are also bit high depending on quality of food that is offered. Per meal cost of food is 50bucks Classrooms, labs and Libraries are well built. The entire infrastructure of college is really good which is a plus point in Vit. Classrooms and reading rooms and computer labs are air conditioned and lighting is okayish for reading purpose. Labs are in optimum condition, well ventilated , equipments are available as per requirements of students. Open Wi-Fi is available which seldom works and nothing more than WhatsApp can be operated on it. It blocks YouTube, most of the educational sites, Facebook and virtual labs so it isn't of much use for students.

Clubs & Associations

  • There are 13 student chapters in college like bmesi, IEEE, iste, csi and so on. Out of all these IEEE is most prominent and consist majority of students. Apart from student chapters there is student council, hobby club in college. Student college is the most central student organization in college which conduct events each week called Friday paathshaala which is a free event. Apart from these freshers, traditional day, suit and saree day, Marathi divas, laser show, just jam and many other fun events are conducted by the students ' council. Life in college as a VITian is boring as the crowd is quite boring. There is no variaton is crowd. However students' council always keeps organizing many fun events to bring up the spirit of enjoyment in college life of engineering students.

  • Vidyalankar Institute of Technology (VIT) is located in central Mumbai, and can be easily reached from all parts of the city. It takes about 15 minutes to walk from Wadala station (Harbour Rly.) to the institute. Also, it\'s not all that far from Dadar station (W.Rly. & C.Rly.). Buses can drop you very close to the college. Share taxis from Wadala west also take you to the college. There are ample of buses which ply between Dadar and Wadala, so a good option for central and western students also. However, it is surrounded by slums which are a huge tur...

  • VIT has provided the basic scheduled timing that is 9 am to 4pm or someday it\'s 6pm. We have our mini projects assigned for particular majors topic and have assignments for all subjects and exams.
  • The quality of teaching is good enough from the college. And college has facilities provided undertaking student\'s needs.
  • Overall the staff in our college is very active and co operative regarding academics. But that needs huge balance too.

College fee is generally for open category is Rs 1 ...
