Their success in the globally competitive technological world and leadership in their chosen profession, are our objectives.SNIST is ranked third among top three engineering colleges in the combined sates of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.Sreenidhi is dedicated for transforming the boys and girls into highly competent engineers with high level of motivation, professional skills and self-confidence. We inculcate in them Effective Communication Skills, ability to work in a team and to lead a team for achieving excellent results in their professional pursuits. Training students to acquire the ability to go into details.
Sreenidhi is fully equipped to conduct under graduate courses in different branches of engineering. It has an excellent infrastructure, highly motivated and dedicated faculty. Thus Sreenidhi has made a mark in Engineering Education System through an excellent teaching and learning process. The academic results of the College are always among the top in the Colleges affiliated to JNT University. An effective industry interaction setup is built to achieve the objective of exposing the students to practical aspects of Engineering.The College offers seven Undergraduate courses and three Postgraduate courses in different branches of Engineering. The details of the courses are given in the following table. All these courses lead to the award of Bachelor of Technology Degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.The academic structure of the courses and the schedules are finalized by the University Authorities and the college will follow the same. Examinations will be conducted at the college both for mid-sessional work and for end examinations. The question papers are sent by the University and the end examinations will be conducted as per the directions of the University.

Sreenidhi has made a mark in the short span of its existence due to enormous efforts put in by the management and the staff. Every effort is made to develop necessary infrastructure, teaching learning process, support services and facilities for extra curricular activities in an exemplary manner. Senior Professors who are well known in their own branches of engineering have laid a solid foundation for building this institution. Their enormous experience made Sreenidhi, an institution par excellence in the technical education system of India.
The management of Sreenidhi is very enlightened and dynamic. Any initiative that is required is always forth coming and necessary finances are provided for building the institution. State of the art laboratories, library with latest books and periodicals and computer centre with high ended systems in Sreenidhi provide an excellent environment for serious studies.Sreenidhi has excellent staff and they have the means by which effective instruction can be carried out. Every class room has overhead projector facilities and teachers use transparency banks for teaching purpose. There is a novel and unique Best Teacher Award Scheme which is motivating the teachers to do their best non only in teaching but also in building up of the institution.

Scholarships are provided to eligible students from the student welfare fund. Sreenidhi reimburses 100% of membership fee to the toppers of different branches. This is helping the students to be aware of the developments in their respective branches of Engineering.The college fee for one year is rs.78,960.The government provides fee reimbursement scheme for all eligible candidates.This fee includes tuition fee and other extra curricular fee.
All the students who have satisfied the requirements for award of the degree of Bachelor of Technology are given original certificates during the convocation held by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. This is conducted at a suitable place in the city of Hyderabad and all the students of affiliated engineering colleges who have completed the course are invited to take part in the convocation function. The students are to submit an application for attending the convocation and also pay necessary fees.
In the Convocation all toppers of various branches of engineering and technology are given Gold Medals instituted by the University and other organizations. A Chief Guest of very high calibre gives the convocation address which will be very enlightening to all the participants of the convocation and particularly fresh engineering graduates. The Governor of Andhra Pradesh who is the Chancellor of the University will preside over the function and administers the oath from all graduates who are to receive the degrees.
A Mini Convocation is usually held by respective affiliated engineering colleges for handing over the original certificates sent by the University. This has to be conducted after the Main Convocation of the University. Sreenidhi also wishes to conduct this mini convocation every year.
Academic Awards are given to students by the College and also by the Professors of the College for specific academic achievements. The details of various awards given are hereunder:
Gold medals are given for toppers of final year, one from each branch.
Academic awards are given to top three students from each branch from first year to third year.
Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology (SNIST) is known for its quality and talented students. The institute attracts the cream of student community. It believes that the true potential of such students cannot be realized through academics alone. The institute helps to promote managerial skills and core values in the students, all of which cumulatively help to groom the students into balanced individuals.SNIST is in built by highly committed and quality conscious visionaries who are dedicated to making a positive and profound impact on the way education is imparted in the country. The goal of the Institute is to develop students into integrated personalities with a blend of Academic & Extra Curricular abilities.
We have placements in two phases. In the first phase top hiring companies like Infosys, Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS), WIPRO,DELL come for placements. Almost 80 percent of the students get selected during this phase then for the remaining students there is second phase. In the secon phase companies like Capgemini,TCS,Intergraph,IBM ,I-gate etc come for hiring.There is a placement cell in the college that takes care of placement phases.
The figures of 2011-15 batch is as follows: 690 students have been selected in various companies. Out of which Infosys hired 226, CTS hired 98 and WIPRO 232.There are other companies which hired students in considerable numbers.
Internships are made available through the college alumni that are spread across the world.SNIST has contacts with top corporate companies that make it esay for students to get news regarding internships.
Sreenidhi is situated in a sprawling campus of 25 acres in Sylvan surroundings. Necessary buildings, faculty, state of the art laboratories, computer centre, library and other facilities are built not only to the extent required but also for future expansion of the institute.
Each department has necessary infrastructure and other facilities for effecting an excellent teaching learning process. Broadly there are seven departments.
There is a computer centre for the college besides six computer centres available in various departments. The students who need this facility for project works etc. use these computer centre.
Library and information centre of the college is very rich with more than 15,000 volumes and hundred national and international journals. There are departmental libraries to cater to the needs of the concerned departmental staff.
Students are provided an activity centre for there recreation and light reading facilities. Students can also make use of the city centre which consists of a computer centre, library and internet facilities. Transport facilities are made available to the students for their travel to the college from different parts of the city and back.
A common facility of the computer centre is provided for the benefit of students belonging to Non computer courses with 42 Pentium systems, which work in a LAN. The project works of these students can also be carried out in this computer centre.
The students are provided facilities for indoor games, reading rooms, separately for Boys and Girls. Facilities are also made available for tea and snacks through a canteen for their convenience. Out door games are also made available under the guidance of a qualified physical director.
The SNIST Library System consists of a Central Library with 17 departmental Libraries and one City Centre Library which collectively support the teaching, research and extension programmes of the Institute. All students, faculty members and employees of the Institute are entitled to make use of the Library facilities on taking library membership. The Library, besides having 85,000 thousands huge collection of books on engineering, science and humanities offers library services through its various divisions. Initially setup in 1997, the Central Library will move to its new building in the middle of 2010.To make the Sreenidhi Institute of Science& Technology Library a 21st Century Knowledge Centre and to facilitate the transition of today’s engineering society to a knowledge base society of tomorrow, the knowledge generated by the faculty and students of SNIST has been digitized and made accessible through Intranet or Internet. Along with the automation of library services, we have move towards the digitization of library resources, so that the services of Virtual Library and Knowledge Centre may be provided parallel with the Traditional Library.
R&D center supports research in college.We have Entrepeneur Development Cell(EDC) that grooms young entrepreneurs.
The Institute is less than 24 km away from the center of the city. However, in order to enable the faculty to commute easily to and from the college the institute has made necessary transport arrangements. It provides six buses and 10 cars for the faculty.There are 30 college busses for students, out of which 15 are Air Conditioned and the other are Non-AC. The fee for AC busses is 30,000 per year and N0n-AC is 20,000.Arrangements are also made for transport of the students by involving APSRTC. Students who can not afford college busses are provided with exclusive RTC busses.Fourteen RTC buses are run exclusively for transport of students. The students are picked up at various places from the twin cities. on their way to the college and are dropped right in the campus. They are picked up from the college in their return trip.
SNIST canteen has various food items with decent cost.The menu keeps on changing with the interests of students as well as faculty.It is maintained hygienically.We have a cafeteria where bakery items as well as hot drinks like coffee,tea are made available.
Sreenidhi supports academics as well as cultural activities. That reflects in the number of clubs that are active in SNIST. There are 8 clubs,that include both technical as well as extra-curricular activities.We have IEEE,ISTE students chapter,Nidhi Quiz Club,Arts Club,Emerging Computers Arena(ECA),Innovation and Creativity Club(IC2), Bachpan Bachao,Street Cause and others.
It is necessary that the fresh engineering graduates are not only competent in their knowledge of technical subjects but also must have the soft skills. They must be capable of communicating with others at times with foreigners, who have different cultural backgrounds and native languages. They must be excellent in written as well as oral communication skills. The students also must have the ability to go into the details and the temperament to work in a group. They must be imbibed with the qualities of team building and leadership.
With the above qualities to be acquired by the students Sreenidhi is organizing a number of extra curricular and co-curricular activities. A unique scheme of students council nominated by the institute based on merit is in operation. The topper of the college will be the President of the students' council, the second ranker will be the Vice President, both belonging to the final year class. Secretary and Joint Secretary are nominated from the pre-final class. Members of the council, one from each section are nominated on the basis of merit. This council is responsible for effective interaction with the college management and also the conduct of the college day celebrations.
Arts club is for the creator in you.Music, Dance, Beatbox, Mime, Drama, Painting, Literature let it be any ART. Its in Here,ARTS CLUB,The Cultural Club of SNIST. They are responsible for organizing all cultural events in college like Traditional Day, Freshers Night and others. They conduct fests like NAACH,Udaan etc in college.They have their own board members who organize these events.
IEEE is the world's largest professional association providing access to the industry's most essential technical information, networking opportunities, career development tools, and many other exclusive benefits too.
To encourage the participation of the students in social service activities and to serve the rural neighbourhood, the college is setting up a NSS group with a Senior Professor supervising the whole activity. The JNTU has already given necessary approval to finance the schemes.A unit of NCC is also being set up in the college. The approval from competent authorities is awaited.
Street Cause is an NGO comprising of students intent on doing their bit for the betterment of society. With in a year from its inception in 2009, it has radically grown from being a local guild of adherents, with the objective of helping the underprivileged and the destitute in any and every way possible, to being an internationally renowned organization. Street Cause has completed over 85 tasks, 1 Project & 2 Fund Raiser Parties in a span of just one and half year. A few events have been conducted in collaboration with corporate such as Deloitte, Gold Drop Industries, Indian Red Cross Society and others. Street Cause also has collaborations with organizations from various countries like United States, Ukraine,Ghana,Gambia, Liberia, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Nepal.
There are around 10 fests conducted in an year. The management will not interfere in organizing the fest. The success of a fest solely depends on students.Coming from marketing to organizing, everything is controlled by students under the guidance of seniors.This way we get an exposure as to work in a team and co-ordinate with people. These clubs help in nurturing the young talent and grooming them in the area they are at their best.
There is friendly atmosphere in the college campus.Ragging in Educational Institution is prohibited as per the Act of Andhra Pradesh Prohibition Act,1997. SNIST is taking various measures to eradicate ragging menace in the campus and its surroudings. If any student or parent wish to bring to the notice of the college authorities about any act of ragging involving students of this college, are requested to give us information regarding the same by providing the details to enabe the college authorities to take necessary deterrent actioin against those students involved in the heinous act of ragging. The details of the complainant are kept confidential.This way a student is made to feel at ease in college grounds.
Alcohol and Smoking is prohibited in the campus grounds. There are no Bars or pubs in the vicinity of college. The college has No Open gate system.Attendence above 70% is mandatory for a student to get promoted to next semester. Marks are provided for attendence as well in the internal examinations so as to increase the interests of students.
