  • The academic schedule is fairly regular. Recently it has become stricter.
  • There are some internal unit tests apart from the two online and one written test conducted by the University of Pune.

  • My course fee at Pune Institute of Computer Technology is Rs. 40k per year. The current college fees are close to Rs. 90k per annum.
  • There are some avenues for scholarships which are available to toppers every year.
  • There are some scholarships available for need-based candidates also.

  • A lot of good internships and job opportunities exist in Pune Institute of Computer Technology.
  • There is scope to do some live projects right from the second year.
  • Job placements start after 3rd year and almost all get placed by the end of the year.
  • Since college is located in Pune, there is no dearth of really good companies from the IT sector that come to college.
  • Almost 90-95% batch gets placed.
  • Average salary package is close to Rs. 4 lakh pa.
  • Alumni network is pretty vast and is really good.

  • The quality of classrooms was poor at Pune Institute of Computer Technology.
  • However, recently they have upgraded to state of the art classrooms equipped with projectors.
  • The library is really exhaustive and the labs are pretty good.
  • The entire campus is Wi-fi enabled.
  • The college is well connected to major parts of the city.
  • Commuting facilities like buses and autos are easily available.

  • On campus, accommodation is limited at Pune Institute of Computer Technology.
  • However, there are a lot of reasonable and good quality options available for accommodation in the neighboring areas which are all walking distance from the college.
  • Since the entire area has a dominant student demographic, all the facilities required by students are available nearby at reasonable prices.
  • There are a huge number of options for food around the campus.

  • Pune Institute of Computer Technology has a very active IEEE branch.
  • The Arts circle of the college is very active, participates in a lot of inter-college competitions and provides a good platform for the students to showcase their creative side.
  • There are other clubs also and you can start your own if you are genuinely interested.
  • Sports infrastructure in the college is really bad.
  • Only 1 basketball court is present where people play basketball, cricket, football, volleyball and everything else you can possibly think of.

  • There are a few NRI candidates as well at Pune Institute of Computer Technology.
  • Hence, diversity-wise there is a lot of scope for good exchange of ideas.
  • A lot of students coming to the college are really talented and a lot of peer learning takes place.
  • There are a lot of technical festivals happening in the college.
  • The social scene in college is a little low. However, there are a lot of great places to hang around in Pune and hence you can make your college life happening if you want.

FOREIGN EXCHANGE & INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE: This general point is not, unfortunately, considered as a point of comparison for non-IIT colleges in Maharashtra. As there were few institutions which offer such exposure until I graduated (2011). But this college has a positive side of strong alumni network. Many students go for M.S, MBA and Jobs outside in their immediate post-college career. If the college can decide and take initiative, it can definitely come up with plans for, not Exchange programs probably, but for short-term International opportunities. ACADEMICS & FACULTY: The college is affiliated to University of Pune. The academic schedule is fairly regular. Recently it has become stricter. There is a University of Pune specified combination for classes. E&TC; department is very strict wrt attendance, assignments etc compared to CS and IT. Some of the faculty is really good while some others are average.
FOREIGN EXCHANGE & INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE: The strong alumni network of PICT gives an opportunity to maximum students for internships abroad. There is no such exchange programs from the college. Some students get good international experience by visiting research conferences and seminars...

ACADEMICS & FACULTY:
  • The students are asked to maintain a 100% attendance, a fine of Rs. 100/- is levied for every bunked lecture.
  • Term work too gets affected due to lack of attendance.college has a very good faculty majority of them having great knowledge about the subject.
  • The results of the students depict this explicitly. Communication could be a problem with some of the teachers, but on the whole, SUPERB teachers.
