  • The teaching and routines are very similar to that of schools at PES University.
  • Unlike other colleges, there is a fixed timetable and classes are held every day from 8.15 am to 3.30 pm.
  • Most of the teaching staff is very efficient and rarely do you see them missing a class or not teaching.
  • Computer-based exams are held for all students which have made the process easier and less time taking.
  • Assignments and projects are compulsorily given each semester as a 2 credit course. Students can select their own electives from the list given.
  • There are marks allotted for attendance so mostly students do not miss classes.
  • Overall experience is good.

Fees & Scholarship
Know more
5 /10

  • As far as my knowledge, no scholarships are available for taking admissions by General category students at PES University.
  • The fee is quite less for CET students, but for students from outside Karnataka, it is very high.
  • I took admission in 2013 the course fee at my time is Rs. 1.52 lakh pa. The cost for hostels is not included in this.
  • After the admission though the toppers of the branch are awarded scholarships annually.
  • I have been awarded a sum of Rs. 13 thousand till the third year of my course, which includes an MRD scholarship sum of Rs. 5000.
  • Regardless, the college is becoming aware of this and increasing the scholarship amount every year.

Placements & Alumni Network
Know more
8 /10

  • For 3rd year students, the number of companies hiring interns is very less but the quality is top notch. Companies like Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Intuit, Wipro etc provide many internship roles for the students at PES University.
  • For CSE students the number of internships provided is very high, and not so much for core branch students.
  • For final year students, the companies hiring interns is very high, be it a core branch or and IT branch. From companies like Citrix, Samsung, Intel, Wipro, Zebra, Sapient to startups like InMobi, Intellipaat etc all kinds of intern roles are easily available for students.
  • Most companies provide a stipend of Rs. 5k- 40k.
  • A lot of PPOs are made to students through internships.
  • Also, PESU has a program for students who want a research internship abroad and they even award scholarships for that.
  • As far as placements are concerned, PESIT is one of the best in Bangalore. The college has 90% placement rate, including students who get recruited through Mass recruiting companies like Cognizant.
  • I have been recruited by Accenture with a compensation of Rs. 3.5 lakh pa.
  • The Salary for CSE branch is the highest and last year went till Rs. 24 lakh pa.
  • Core companies like BOSCH, WIPRO, QUALCOMM, MEDITECH, CISCO etc visit the campus.
  • The alumni network at PESIT is a little weak, but irrespective of that seniors are always ready to help if we reach out.

Eligibility Criteria & Admission Process
Know more

  • Since the PES became a university in 2013, It does not takes students through the COMED-K exams anymore. PESSAT is the entrance exam setup for admissions.
  • Registrations for PESSAT can be done online, also a preferred date can be selected among the given slots. The test can be taken in one of the various test centers listed.
  • To be eligible for this examination, the student should have scored a 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in 12th STD or 2nd PUC or any other equivalent.
  • The procedure for online registrations usually happens sometime around April, and the results come out during the last week of May.
  • Selection of branch or counseling occurs in June and depends on your rank. There are two rounds of counseling and students should preferably attend both, if the desired branch is not available in the first.
  • The cut-off for the CSE course is 600 ranks and for ECE course 800 ranks are required.
