Academics & Faculty
Know more
7 /10

  • Class timings are pretty much normal, starts from 8:30am, one hour lunch break, may go on up till 5pm if you have lab. But since most of the students are hostellites, rescheduling happens often. Quality of teaching depends a lot on your department. Only few professors are really good.
  • Recently, there has been some experimentation with flip class rooms and flexible method of teaching and evaluating. Nothing is spoonfed, you need to find your niche and grow.

Placements & Alumni Network

8 /10

  • Plenty of companies come for internships but then again it depends on your department (Cse with max. companies while Meta with relatively lesser companies coming for interns). I did an intern at TCS robotics lab Cochin. It was a good experience.

  • For girls you have the Opal compounds which consist of Opal A (fourth yr hostel which offers you the liberty of choosing single room/big room with one roomie), Opal B, Opal C (for first and second yrs, three in a room), Opal D (third yrs, two in a room) and Opal E.
  • Mess food is decent. I'd rate lunches better than dinners. You can pay some Rs 2k extra and get some non veg.

Clubs & Associations

  • Clubs and associations are the life of this college. The main fests are -culfest Festember and techfest Pragyan. Besides this you have the Dance troupe, Music troupe, Robotics and machine intelligence club, Third dimension (aeromodelling club), Spider (R&D club), PSI racing, Balls by picasso (Lit club) and many more. All the instances you quote in your interviews stating how good a teamplayer you are or how hardworking you are stems from working for these clubs.
