Classes at NIT start at 7:55 AM and will last till 5:00 PM depending on the time table. Saturdays and sundays are not working days. ECE in NIT is one of the most challenging branch with a very hectic timetable. Third semester could be from 8:00 AM-5:00 PM daily. Classes are about an hour long and labs take around 3 hours to complete. Various clubs like IEEE,IE,CSI etc  can have students doing club projects, moreover many mini-projects are included in the syllabus.

There are two quizes (12.5% each rougly), mid semester (25% ) and end semester exams (50%). The weightage vary sometimes and depends on the teacher. There maybe 2-3 assignments per semester.

Teaching is the best in EnC dept. in NIT, with one of the best faculty provisions in the college the teaching quality is very good. projectors, labs etc are also used to enhance the teaching.

Its a great environment for students who want to do really well in the subject. Sometimes its hectic but the experience is worth it.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY:
  • Most students are full of good things to say about the professors, who are said to be very friendly and extremely approachable.
  • The Mechanical department faculty is singled out for special praise, while students say that the CS and IT branches are slightly short of experienced faculty members.
  • The good part is that none of the professors has big ego problems, and most share a good rapport with students.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY: Working time of the college isĀ from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M but depending on your class time-table you may have 3-8 classes, each of 50 minute duration, per day.
