We used to have INR 63,000 every year and now it is around INR 1,50,000 I guess the top 10 students of sc&St will get scholarships and rest should apply for merit based schloarship from respective state quota and some other scholarships loans are not much required if required you can easily get a loan by showing your allotment orders to the nearest rec branch of SBI andJ&K bank

Internships are good for the core branches as they go into some really good companies other computer related branches can go into some MNC's for their internship. college requires at least 1 month of internship from a company and placements are really good with MNC's like Samsung ibm tcs polaris musigma etc are present. for core branches there are like Ashok leyland maruti Suzuki vedanta and Indian Navy and many other companies will also come for recruiting students every year

You can get into NIT Srinagar by taking up the prestigious JEE MAINS examination for btech and GATE for mtech and PhD the minimum eligible criteria for college is to have at least 60% of marks in your +2 examination of any board for btech 50% of marks in your under graduation for getting admission into mtech and must qualify gate exam. The cutoff was around 30,000 for the Metallurgical & material science engineering branch for this year (2017)

  • The academics of National Institute of Technology is quite impressive. But there are no regular classes.
  • There is continuous evaluation of the students through assignments, sessionals(2 per semester) and major examination(1 per semester).
  • The professors are highly qualified and their method of teaching is really good.
  • However the teaching methodology of the contractual is not so good, there is a need for more experienced, qualified and permanent teaching faculty.

  • In NIT SRINAGAR classes start from 8:45 am in morning and go on till 5:00 pm from Monday to Friday. Saturday and Sundays are off.
  • The classes sometimes get disturbed due to political or climatic conditions.
  • The professors are really helpful and almost all of them are PhD or are pursuing PhD. One can freely go and ask doubts to professors.
  • International exposure of NIT SRINAGAR is fantastic but there are certain areas of development where it needs to focus.&...
