  • We have fractal system in IIT Hyderabad, which means that we have exams 3 times in a semester, plus if a prof. wish he or she can take exams in between as well. One of the benefits of having fractal system is that we dont have the burden of end sems or mid sems. We generally have 3-4 assignments which needs to submitted on a weakly basis ( This may vary from branch to branch, also from segment ot segment) Prof. are very cooperative, you can approach them any time up till 5pm. Prof are generally middle aged with average age being 35, so they are not much experienced but are up to date with latest tech.
  • I am quite satisfied with IIT Hyd, especially the academics part.

  • I did my internship in Parle, got a stipend of Rs 10000 per month.
  • There are many companies that come in the campus top ones being Boeing, Mercedes Benz, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Qualcomm etc
  • Average salary for mechanical is Rs 7 LPA. Nearly 100% students got placed. Many of them went on to higher studies ie masters.
  • Practically there is no such alumini network. Being a new IIT alumini network is very weak.

  • No PGs are required.
  • Food is quite average in IIT Hyd mess.
  • You get good wifi, classrooms and labs are still in construction phase.
