Academics & Faculty

8 /10

  • Class timings during the first year is usually from 9 AM to 6 PM with some gaps in between and time for lunch.
  • Second year becomes a little relaxed for most of the times, classes getting for around lunch time.
  • Teaching is 100% case based and almost each case is licensed by Harvard Business School.
  • Faculities is a mixed bag but there are few legendary faculities as well - However, couple of them have left the college after I passed out.
  • Overall experience of college is good, you have to be vocal in class as there are marks for class participation - so you need to study daily.
  • The mixed diversity for students coming from all over the country and 50:50 boys and girls ratio is a big plus and is a big addon to make your stay in IBS worthwhile.

Fees & Scholarship
Know more
4 /10

  • iCourse fee is a dampner. Back in 2010-12 It was INR 11-12 lacs all inclusive. Now the fee has been revised taking tutition plus misc expenses is greater than INR 15 lacs.
  • Also, scholarships were generous back at my time with people securing above 8 GPA getting INR 75 k, 8.5 GPA INR 1 lac and so on. However, now very few top performers manage to get anything back from the college.
  • Loans are available by most of the banks, its easier to get from private ones. However, a word of advise - if you are planning to take a huge loan i.e anything > 5 lacs - you should reconsider getting into IBS - Hyderabad as ROI may suffer. Consider choosing alternative colleges like Christ Bangalore, Balaji Pune etc which will offer you a better ROI considering their reputation and fee < INR 10 Lacs even in 2016.

Placements & Alumni Network
Know more
5 /10

  • I managed internship in a test prep startup in Delhi at a stipend of INR 10,000/ month back in year 2011.
  • Usually college facilitates internship opportunities. However, you need to be cautious as all companies may not offer good profile and scope for learning.
  • Considering the batch size of 800-900 students - placements do suffer and continue till the last.
  • Companies from Banking and insurance dominate the placements with select KPO's, Real Estate Consulting companies also showing up.
  • Actual average package is around 5 Lpa (Don't go on CTC - this is fixed component which actually matters).
  • Few companies that visit campus: HDFC, CBRE, JP Morgan, ICICI, Smart Cube etc.
  • Alumni network is huge, college has been making efforts to make the best of it but still to realize its true potential.

Infrastructure & Transportation
Know more
9 /10

  • There are two kind of hostels for boys and girls - one usual with shared washrooms, one a little lavish with attached washrooms.
  • All rooms are single seater and with balcony irrespective hostel you choose. Hostels are 5 storied with life, each room has a bed, study table, wadrobe and balcony. Washrooms are avilable in plenty equipped with washing machines.
  • This is the best hostel you can expect from a college (irrespective you choose usual or a lavish one). There are 2 messes, food served by them is equally good - However, some students brand one better than the other simply because of the taste preference. You will not complain much - this is 100X better than a typical Indian college hostel mess.
  • Classrooms, labs, library etc everything is wordclass. The 100 acre campus is a bliss and is no less than a holiday resort - you have strong sports infra, olympic size swimming pool, jogging tracks and what not.

Clubs & Associations
Know more
9 /10

There is always something happening at some corner of IBS. Tons of club activities - you have marketing, finance, business, operations, theatre, advertising etc clubs.

Throughout the year so many festival celebrations in full vigour, college fests - there is never a dull moment at IBS Hyderabad.

Eligibility Criteria & Admission Process
Know more

  • Enterance is through IBSAT/CAT score for Hyderabad Campus. CAT score is usually >70%ile.
  • For candidates who have good overall personality and are not very strong in written, I would recommend taking IBSAT.
  • IBSAT has 25% weightage only and the balance 75% is distributed in your past academic score, Interview, GD performance.
  • Since, IBS has many campuses, IBSAT cut-off is low - so if you perform well in the later evaluations - there is a good probability to get a seat in Hyderabad campus.
