The college hours are from 8 am to 5 pm. The students are given the flexibility to decide their own timetable. Saturday is half-day. Continuous evaluative components such as surprise quizzes, assignments etc are part of the curriculum and Midterm examination and comprehensive examination are held. Teaching is majorly presentation and blackboard orientated. Lab sessions are conducted according to the demand of the subject. Faculty and staff are very well experienced.

Annually, the complete fee structure is INR 3.5 lakhs per annum. The Aditya Birla Scholarship is awarded to the top 3% (around 25 each semester) of students, based on their academic performance, which includes up to 80% of tuition fees. The ones whose family income is less than INR 10 lakhs per annum, additional scholarship called Merit-cum-Need is awarded. For such students, taking the loan is a feasible option. There is a branch of State Bank of India in the campus itself from where the loan can be easily taken.

Many big companies like Oracle, PayPal, Nutanix etc visit the campus and the average salary offered is INR 14 lakhs per annum. For Electronics, companies like Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, etc come to the campus and the average salary offered is INR 10-12 lakhs per annum. For core branches, companies like L&T, Reliance Polymer etc visit the campus and the average salary offered is INR 6 lakhs per annum. Also, Finance and Analytics companies like FuturesFirst, ZS Associates etc come to the campus with an average salary of INR 10 lakhs per annum.Our college boasts of a vivid and diverse Alumni Network across the four campuses.

The hostel fee is INR 25,000 per semester. There are 8 hostels for boys and 2 for the girl. For PhD students, there are separate quarters. There are two dining halls on the campus and various other food outlets. The daily charge of the Mess is INR 119. The classrooms, Labs are very well designed and the Library is spacious and well organized. The WiFi connectivity is there on the Academic Block alone and LAN connectivity is provided in hostels. Other key infrastructures include the Sports and Activities Center and Medical Center and Auditorium.

Clubs & Associations

There are around 12 clubs in the campus like Journal Club, Dance Club, Drama Club etc and 11 Departments which are responsible for managing the College Fests. Three Festivals are celebrated in our college: Atmos - The Techno-Management Fest, Arena - The Sports Fest, Pearl - The Cultural Fest. All in all, the life in the college is thoroughly student.

For getting into BITS, a student is required to sit for BITSAT which is an online test conducted in the month of May. It is required for the student to score minimum 75% score in his/her 12th standard, with a minimum of 65% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology and English. The cutoff generally ranges from 290-300 to B.E. For B.Pharm., it is around 225.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY:
  • The classes are not so hectic at Birla Institute of Technology and Science.
  • Quality of teaching is as good as the reputation of the institution.
  • Also, professors are helpful when you approach them outside the class.
INFRASTRUCTURE & TRANSPORTATION:
  • Classrooms are well maintained at Birla Institute of Technology and Science. Although they are really very old. Commuting facilities are also fine.
  • The wi-fi is not available on our campus.

ACADEMICS & FACULTY:
  • Extremely experienced professors conducted most of the courses at Birla Institute of Technology and Science. For the remaining, we had faculty from the IT industry.
  • Course structure was very sound and in-line with the top universities across the globe.
  • Teaching methodology varied from professor to professor. Some professors were more than willing to assist with queries outside the scheduled classes.
