Varun Arya the only Yoga teacher of Hansraj College of the University of Delhi has made a world record by performing 535 Surya Namaskars in one hour without any break on May 15 and entered into the Limca Book of Records. Since the last two years, he teaches the ancient yogic postures and exercises to teachers and students of Delhi University.
“I am very happy and I knew I will break the record"
The 30-year-old Arya says he had been practicing for 8 months to get into the book of records.“I am very happy and I knew I will break the record because I worked out a lot to achieve this. I use to eat only once during the day". Suraya Namaskar is his favorite among all the asanas says, Arya. His name has been successfully inscribed into the Limca Book of records.
"My next aim is to enter into The Guinness Book Of Records"
Last year on the world Yoga day, Rajpal Singh made a record by performing 496 Surya Namaskars in one hour. Now Varun is the only one not only in India but also in the world. Arya now wants to set a new record in the Guinness Book of World Records, for which he will perform 8,000 yoga Asanas in 100 hours. "I continuously practiced performing the maximum number of Surya Namaskars in one hour. My aim is to enter Guinness book of world record” said Arya.
