Tezpur University awarded Rajbhasha

Tezpur University of Assam was selected to be awarded the prestigious and honourable Rajbhasha Award of the Ministry of HRD. Tezpur University is being awarded the Rajbhasha Award for the best implementation of Hindi among the students of their university. Tezpur University will be given this award on 4th, May 2017 is the capital of India, New Delhi. The Vice Chancellor, Mihir Kanti Chaudhary along with the Hindi Officer of the university have been invited to receive the award.

The department of Hindi

The Department of Hindi was established in January 2010. Courses offered by the department are an M.A. programme that was started from the autumn semester in 2013, postgraduate diploma programme in Translation (Hindi), an interdisciplinary Course (IDC) in Hindi, and Hindi as a modern Indian Language (MIL) to students on integrated BA. The department also offers a PhD programme (in Hindi literature/language). The department offers a Certificate Course in Official Hindi (Level-1) to the employees of the university to help them develop their skill and self-confidence in speaking and writing in the language.
