The Telangana government has recently approved a fee hike for BTech and BE courses in private and unaided engineering institutions. This fee increase is applicable from 2022 to 2025 as of now. The fee has been hiked for about 159 engineering colleges in the state. This change has been brought about per the recommendation of the Telangana admission and regulatory fee committee. Further, the highest fee of Rs 1.6 lakh per academic year was settled for the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology, Gandipet. Afterward came the CVR College of Engineering at Rs 1.5 lakh per annum and Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Gandipet, at Rs 1.4 lakh. Not only these but there also are several other colleges that saw a significant hike in fees.

Nonetheless, the fee regulations have fixed an extra amount of Rs 3,000 per annum to take from the students as extra money over the tuition fee for these professional courses. Additionally, the committee has decided to fix the amount under various heads of 2022-23 to 2024-25 towards special fees.
Note: The Telangana engineering institutions collect annual tuition fees in advance. The fee is collected either in a lump sum or in installments.
The authorities plan on collecting Rs 1,000 from the students under special services per annum. Moreover, the students will have to pay Rs 1,500 for common services. The common services include examination-related work, academic audit, curriculum revision, staff training, coordination meeting, and university website maintenance and development. Furthermore, the students will be expected to pay an extra amount of Rs 1,000 for the library and laboratory combined.
